It may be too late, but my understanding is that in the case of a PhD by prior publication, this is likely to be written on the diploma, because it is generally considered a separate degree. Please note that our research does not focus on 'prior publication' models. In the case of a thesis by publication, I would assume that it is unlikely to include this on your degree, as it is generally not considered a separate degree, but just one mode of submission. Of course, you would need to check with your own institution to be sure. Hope this helps, and sorry again for the very late response!

Hi there, sorry for the belated response, I just found a number of comments had been held for review. It's a good idea to look at the guidelines of each journal. You will probably find that most allow you to include a copy in your thesis (e.g. Elsevier guidelines allow you to "Include in a thesis or dissertation (provided this is not published commercially)." For others, a quick email to confirm might be needed. Also, check your university guidelines regarding the inclusion of copyright material. For me, one of my papers was included in my thesis submission (to the chair and assessors), but in the final copy for the university repository, I've removed some papers and replaced the pages with a link to the published paper. Hi Mhamed, thanks for watching :) This will depend on a few things. First, some university guidelines require it, in which case you would need it. If you have no explicit requirement to include a chapter, the first thing to consider is if there is enough information in each paper to deeply explain each method, and your justification of selecting it? Generally a paper doesn't go into too much detail (due to strict word limits), and thesis examiners often want to see evidence of your knowledge of methods (not just why you chose method A, but why you didn't select method B or C despite being aware of them). In most cases some information might be needed to be added to the thesis to fill in this gap, but it might not need a whole chapter, many candidates add a small section to preface their papers to add extra information. In your case, which is similar to my own case adopting different methods, I think it might be important to have a section (again, perhaps not a whole chapter) that introduces the study design as a whole, how all the methods fit together to answer your research questions, and how they relate to each other.
