The unit was removed and installed on a Ram 1500 but the U-connect system is used on different vehicles; Jeep, Dodge and Chrisler. The interior removal is not the same but the unit itself is the same. The reason I replaced the screen was: It was doing uncommanded selections or ghost touching. The U-Connect was acting crazy jumping all around; the screen replacement fixed the issue. This video w...

what mm is the socket? I am getting incorrect rear left wheel speed sensor installation and same thing on the left as well as CHECK TPMS SYSTEM on my 2013 civic
If my memory doesnt fail. It should be a 10mm socket.
Great howto, very clear. Would love to know torque recommendations for the various nuts and bolts when tightening. Looked like you used the "guten tite" specification.
Those 3/8 ratchet cubes are one of the worst tools ever invented. Don't waste your time and money on them!

I would just suggest "talking" will help out alot more. Other than the silence, it was good
How do you disconnect the plug with it. I am having trouble with mine
If it is the electrical plug from the center console. I think it has a clip on its side that you have to press before pulling it out. But Im not completely sure, its been a while since I removed that panel. Let me know your results.
Ok I fixed it thank you so much!
Do you have any tips on how you got the rubber piece in?
@@javonpage5776 I just installed without lub and the use of tools. If it is to hard to install, I would use a little of soap instead of oil to prevent bushing deterioration. But it is preferable to do dry install.
Thank you so much, this was so helpful! My car had to be towed home from the gas station until we could figure it out!
Sorry to hear about the towing but Im also glad to know I was able to help you. Hope you the best.
@@mundothefixitallguy4687 thank you, i wish you the best too!
Well explained, thank you men🤟. Just got a code for my knock sensor. I’ll switch it and see if it fixes the code, hope my engine isn’t just dying and the sensor is working fine 😅 UPDATE: newer 1.6L t-gdi look other comments
Update 1: there’s a coolant line that passes right in front of the sensor. 2018 T-GDI. Trying to find a solution without taking the line out
Update 2: there’s no way to take the sensor out without bleeding the coolant and taking off that coolant line…
That is odd. My car did not had that line in the way. I recorded everything step by step while disassembling it. Thanks for share it and Im really sorry to hear that.
@@mundothefixitallguy4687 it’s all good, update 3: you can take it off without bleeding your coolant and taking that line out. But you need some weird extension that can twist 360°. It’s hard but doable. I got it out 🥳
Update 4: took it out and the sensor and after testing it works perfectly well. I really hope it’s just a spark plug/coil Missfire issue and not my engine dying 😅
Really helpful ❤
Glad it did.
I'm really over my Veloster. Blown engin, 2 ac control knob replacemants, raido touch doesnt work anymore., Leaked oil from the turbo the first day I got it failed front struts, and more.... now I need a special tool to replace the back brakes. Eff this car.
Sorry to hear that. There is a lot of people having the exact same problems even myself. Its a good looking car but they do require plenty of maintenance. About the rear brake tool, it is design that way because of the emergency brake system. Most of the cars with rear calipers are that way too.
Would you also recommend replacing the control arms/ball joints and sway bar links while you're in there? In addition to the struts/shocks and brakes, what other suspension components would you recommend replacing at this point in the age of the vehicle while you're doing this work?
I usually inspect them while working on it but I personnally dont replace them if they are in good condition. It really dont make any damage if you do, because you already have everything disassembled. That will be more at your discretion.
@@mundothefixitallguy4687 Thanks for the clarification. If I do want to replace all that stuff while I have it disassembled, is there anything else I should also replace while I'm in there? Axles? upper control arms? etc?
I like to check for play at control arm bushings too. They usually become a headache when trying to align the car. Like I say before, inspect everything, if it is good I would leave it unless it is bad. Usually the links are bad like the one you saw in the video.
Thank you, every thing I needed to know
You are welcome.
Bro you are the best. I watched your video and man everything that you said to do I did and now the car runs again. You saved me a towing fee and a lot of money from Hyundai.
Glad to hear that. It seems like it is a common issue. I will be grateful if you share the video.

I’ve been pressing the shift/lock release for months now. I’m gonna give the a try and see if that’s the issue or not. This weekend thanks

Hey man i got a problem with my car I hve a 2013 model its an automatic gear box But when i put it in manual and try to give it gear with the + and - nothing happens it dose even show on the dash that it went to manual . What is the problem. And do u think ur same solution will work with me . I hope u reply to me and help me ill be thankful to u man
I havent seen this problem yet but Im pretty sure when you select to go sports it should be a switch at the shifting lever for that selection. I would start checking it to see if it is ok.
@@mundothefixitallguy4687 yah unfortunately when i go to sports nothing happens idk why even when i try to give it gears
When doing troubleshooting I like check the fuses first or loose connections. But I have a feeling your problem is at the shift lever.
@@mundothefixitallguy4687 so i have been digging around for this problem and surprisingly alot of ppl have the same problem as me . A guy had the same problem and the same car model as me and he fixed it he said its the gear controller thingy you knwo the one when u put it in sport mode + - He even sent pic of the part . Hopefully i can have some free time and go and look for that part and buy it and fix the car . Tho man thank you for the reply and helping me

Going to be doing this soon, I see you replaced one of the bolts where it attaches to the knuckle - do you happen to know what size or part # for the bolt? or did your struts come with them?
Bolt PN: 54645-2E100 Nut: 62618-1F000 The reason I replaced them was because it had an eccentric bolt installed on it. Those are the part numbers I used to get them replaced. Dont forget to double check if they apply to your car before purchase them.
Thanks for posting. Love the no talk, just point and do!
You are welcome.
Informative. Thanks!
I have a 2000 XJ and for some reason one side is lower than the other and the lower side adjustment is maxed out. Wonder if it has to do with this spring.
It can be the spring, a broken clip, or the lamp holder itself.
What brand of struts and shocks you recommend?
I bought those ones in Autozone. They came as a complete assembly and have lifetime warranty. Also, the price was very competitive.
Perfect thanks!
You're welcome!
Where you get that brake caliper tool?
I think I bough it on Auto Zone.
Which direction do I turn it to tighten it? I don’t have any wrenches like yours and this job is a NIGHTMARE without a ratcheting wrench so I can’t tell which way is actually tightening it or loosening it since I can only turn it 1/6th of the way every turn.
The nut has to go clockwise to get it tighter.
Thanks Good man
Thank you! I bought my 2000 XJ and the spring was missing. I recently learned about it and now I can fix my headlights! Thanks!
It is good to be able to help you.
My daughter’s veloster experienced the shifter locked in R. I managed to push the shifter back to park by going under the hood and pushing the shifter lever(located below the battery) to the left and it popped the gear to park. Also the shifter was able to shift and again and was able to drive the car home. After watching this video I will look into whether the bushing is shot and try to replace it
same problem im having will this work on a 2014
Not sure.
I was trying to tighten mine and I noticed there a lot of play on the bracket o have to tighten, is that normal?
Its normal. I always verify the condition of the brake pads before do any adjustment.
What’s the name of the attachment you used at this time ? 4:37
It is called "Rear Disc Brake Piston Tool"
YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER !!!!
Big help thanks man but yes I did it my self
I took them off and put them back on the same way, but the wipers are not working right
Mark the motor with a sharpie and clock it; if it get worst then clock it the oposite way.
what do I do if the wipers seem to be not working correctly? New motor is good
It can be a lot of things depending on what kind of problem you have. It can be a faulty relay, broken wire, need of ajustment etc. I suggest you to get a techniccian involved on it to help you troubleshoot it. Hope I can do more to help you.
Worked like a charm on my kids car. Thanks for posting.
where did you buy these seat covers?
Bought them at "Zega Covers". They are located on San Juan Puerto Rico
dammm you save my day, i was as cemetery granma funeral and stuck in park, but the shifter move up and down. my uncle put in drive via direct tran. now i found your video an i remove the console 8pm and see exactly that problem. ufff THANX
Glad I was able to help you. It seems like this is a common problem in these cars.
Thank you, sir. I replaced my rear discs and brakes and when I was rolling back with the brake set I was worried I would have to tear apart the center console to get to the cable adjuster. Took less than five minutes on my 14VT

Thannnnkkk you!!!
Dude you rock! Couldn’t for the life of me figure out how that damn spring was supposed to go back on. I actually had to drill a small hole in the edge of the housing to get it to stay. All back together now thanks to you sir.
You are welcome.
I think im going to do the same thing... that makes complete sense
Had this issue today, took the center console out and sure enough the shifting cable slipped off and the bushing was broke. Saved me big time thank you so much.
Good to hear
Happened to me last night and I got lucky my car was at home. Until I found this video, any kit I could find for Hyundai Veloster was at least 2 days out (nothing at local auto parts store) and Hyundai only sells the whole cable kit and not just the bushing and that was 4 days out. Got this kit and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
Thanks for that. Really helpful.
