My name is Mike Zacchio, and I am currently a high school Teaching Assistant working towards my New York State Teaching Certification in 7-12 social studies. This channel will contain educational content that includes, but is not limited to: clips from lectures, activity compilation videos, personal reflections, tips and/or advice accrued throughout my teaching journey, and anything else viewers may find helpful. All content will be kid-friendly.
This channel was designed for teachers who can (hopefully) pick up an idea or two, for current parents who want to know their child's teacher a little better and may want a look into my teaching style, and for myself - so that I can document my journey and make improvements along the way.

Project Based Learning (PBL): Archeological Dig — Global History
In Ms. McCauley’s Global History class, students were broken into groups and assigned different civilizations from points in history and had to analyze ways in which technology shaped that civilization.
Each group created an “ancient artifact” that would be buried in dirt for another group to excavate. Upon digging up the artifacts, each group had to hypothesize what it was used for using academic language.
At the conclusion of the project, excavation groups were presented with an envelope containing the correct information about the artifact.
