I have one, have used it on snow of varied depth and which is fairly solid. This is a rare case where my experience has matched what is shown in a demo.. I may find little use for my roof rake

use a rope its easy and takes 10 mins.

I used to make these out of 1"schedule 40 PVC in the 90's here in Utah. I used cold rolled steel or all thread as uprights to cut the snow along the sides all the way through to the surface, not just undermine it. Also used 6mil plastic as the sliding surface but didn't attach it so the snow just slid down the roof then straight down so I didn't get buried. They were collapsible so I'd transport them in my truck and go up into the mountains & knock on doors to see who wanted their roof cleared of snow after a big storm. Got up to $600 a roof. Not a bad gig!!

I suppose this depends on the density of the snow & whether or not powdery which would not come off in blocks, or an icy mix which would be difficult to remove under any circumstances.

I just bought a similar product. The Roof Razor definitely looks like its built better but I do not like that the slide is tethered to the handle. It flings the snow at your face!

I've seen other tools like this work better, by not having a closed rectangle piece of medal , but rather U- shaped with the top open and taller and the pole on the bottom! Slices through the snow much easier and quicker!

When you have the right tools for the job, raking snow off the roof look easier and more fun...no longer a dreadful chore.

The one problem I see is that you need to be fairly close to the height of the eaves. I doubt it would work when you are 8 ft below the eaves.

You should try the rope or wire method. The Razor Roof Rake requires too much labor while the rope/wire method requires a lot less and you get much better results.

I am not convinced...live in CT....been using roof rakes on 2 story colonial for years....This roof rake is too short to reach 2nd floor roof....even if it did, I would need a crash helmet and then some...with this rake! This guy is just clearing a very low roof, with minimum pitch, and he is getting hit constantly w snow! I cannot even imagine...someone using this rake and cutting out a block of wet, or semi frozen snow....it would be like a block of granite sliding down that plastic Shute on its way to your head or any body part! Pole seems too short for high pitch or taller roofs...sorry this a no go!

Why Would anyone subject themselves to living somewhere so shitty haha. I live in PA and think it’s bad enough and we get no where near that amount. I can’t wait to move south.

There should be taller vertical blades attached to either side of the roof part to slice up deeper snow and make it work a little more reliably in situations like this
