Who is RTCA?
RTCA has provided the foundation for virtually every modern technical advance in aviation. Our standards serve as the basis for government certification of equipment used by the tens of thousands of aircraft flying daily through the world’s airspace. A Standards Development Organization (SDO), RTCA works with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to develop comprehensive, industry-vetted and endorsed standards that can be used as means of compliance with FAA regulations. Our deliberations are open to the public and our products are developed by aviation community volunteers functioning in a consensus-based, collaborative, peer-reviewed environment.
Mission:
Inspire the creation and implementation of integrated performance standards that meet the changing global aviation environment and ensure the safety, security, and overall health of the aviation ecosystem

Great presentation! This was a huge help for my Aviation Management & Piloting studies at Worms University, Germany. Thanks a lot!
THATS MY DAD!!!
Mr. Khatwa used to be my neighbour when living in Amsterdam. So nice to see him here! Great and interesting conversation. Thank you!
Looking Good Gents!
What would it be the cost of certificating a simple LRU?
*Promosm* 😌
Thanks John
Beautiful explanation! As an avionic firmware developer I just can say thanks. Maybe it's time to change the way of work
Karina was there from before it was cool. Big respect.
Thanks John, very useful presentation.
Also note: the ITU-R M.2101-0 specification for 5G antennas are PHASED ARRAY ANTENNAS. They "CAN" in theory be made to point UPWARDS at a commercial airliner to throw it off course if relying on an instrument landing. The "POINTING" of phased array antennas is done in SOFTWARE! You don't have to physically point it. Caveat Lector! Be aware of that point!!! This is a colossal SNAFU of FCC! What do they get paid for? Ajit Pai is a former LAWYER who worked for Verizon as in house counsel, and MItch McConnell's former staffer! Great going!
Exelent airport infrastructure
Just wondering why the decision was made to rely solely on visual information. There are many flight situations where ADS-B is more reliable and better suited for deconfliction/collision avoidance. The amount of existing ADS-B data that can be used for AI training is also enormous and widely available. Thank you.
The present radar atlimeters were designed to use more receiver bandwidth than they were legally allowed to use.
Jfc long enough preface ….
Excellent presentation, thank you guys. How the he-- could the FCC enable this mess... unreal

Thanks for posting!
Yeah! They’ve been pushing for awhile. When I was at BA we heard a lot about this over the past year(s). Great coverage Juan!

Soooo cool. Dave16!
Very little seems to be trickling down into mainstream media and local government from the DAC. Meanwhile commercial and hobbyist fliers are feeling the fear, uncertainty and doubt that results. How long will it take DJI, FAA and DAC to put out something positive to the public and media to counter the knee-jerk reactions to UAV's coming from these areas? Certainly, commerce and centralization of regulation are at risk. Help bolster our drone businesses and safe hobbys, and don't turn into yet one more impotent bureaucracy!
