The first time I watched the show I didn't live her. I liked her and kinda understood why she did what she did but still she was a little annoying. Then the second time around I've noticed all the people asking or even straight up expecting her to save them and throwing it at her face afterwards. I saw how it changed her A little more everytime until she became cold to anyone outside her circle and how it hurted her. She's such a brave person and she loves so much, she deserved better than all that.

I could have never understood the loyalty Daenerys evoked in the fans. I was sympathetic to her and admired her arch till she became the queen in the East. Her destroying clans, killing people in dragonfire... it all spurred admiration whereas I could see a complex woman, not a savior. Cercei was a ruthless killer, yes. But she always did it for her family. Every Westerosi (apart from the Boltons and Frays) killed for family. The Dragon Queen did not do any of it for her family, but for her righteousness and conviction of being a true Queen. It was greed, not love. She did not have anyone by that time, because she killed her last known family, her brother

How their loneliness would have done it for them

I am one that thinks that Michael does love Maria, very much. It is just not the same. His history with Alex is so complex. And they both carry so many scars from trauma in their youth. In the first season we saw them trying to grasp onto what they had. Michael needed a Maria. Someone that saw him now. Just like Alex needed Forrest (and trust me, I was glad Forrest only was in a couple of episode. I wasn't that impressed). But, he did help Alex let go of his fear of being seen for who and what he is. In the first episode of season 3, Alex is more relaxed and he is even laughing and teasing with Forrest. When Michael and Alex come back together in season three, they have shed a lot of that toxic buildup from the years before. And, I think they both loved themselves more because of the space taken with other people to explore who that is for each of them. They then realize they do still love each other, in the current moment and finally get to move forward. I loved what Maria gave Michael and I liked what Forrest gave Alex.
