    15/16” socket? Every nut and bolt on the tractor is metric.

      I think previous owner changed some things. Only thing that would fit was a 15/16

    Informative video Josh and nice job restoring and giving it more life. I just aquired a Rhino International 2224 4x4 tractor with loader and it is even harder to find info than your Jinma. I actually think Jinma made the Rhino from 1995-1999, as I see many similarities between the two. Thanks.

    How bad was the head gasket job? When you had it apart what do the head and cylinders look like? I would gone with only 1000 hours like new but not knowing what year this tractor is China left a lot to me desired in their metallurgy back in the 90’s to early 2000’s since around 2010-15 it’s gotten much better just wondering what year and if you’ve noticed any bad wear?

    Hey l like the videos, great job restoring that jinma. I’m working on one myself, and my question is, do you know what size of LED headlights you used?

    • @joshuaborland7751
      @joshuaborland7751 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not remember the size. They are Traveler lights I think. They sell them at tractor supply. Flush mounted off-road lights. I had to slightly trim the fiberglass

    Good job kid. You can upgrade the axel for the front wheels with tapered roller bearings. Late 60's early 70's A body front wheel bearings will work with a small amount of grinder work or you can even use a dremel tool. It doesn't have to be precision since you won't be driving over 20 mph. Much more robust than the balls and it will go into 4 WD easier. You do have to be mindful that you can damage other parts if you don't know how to use the 4WD on these tractors. Put a steering stabilizer , the same type used on 4x4 trucks. You will get that wobble with any tires on a 4 wheel drive, and it gets worse the larger your tires.I have been a pro mechanic for 40 years

    Good job restoring this tractor, I just bought a jinma 284 as well in pretty rough shape. Would you mind posting some of the part numbers of the bosch gauges you bought, I think I would like to upgrade my non-functioning gauges as well, and also the 3 point hitch seal if you have it.

    • @joshuaborland7751

      I got flush mount traveler off-road headlights. You can get them at your local Tractor Supply Co. Minor fiberglass trimming is required.

    Thank you, Joshua, we have a Jinma 284 that is leaking everywhere but it runs like a champ. We need to change the transmission fluid, 80-90 gear oil, and we found your video when we were looking for a how-to video on that subject. We did find your video very informative about these Chinese tractors and where to get parts. We are 70-ish, and your young enthusiasm made us smile...

    I have two Farm Pro 2425 tractors that I have restored much like you did. I have used one of them most of the summer. They really are a good tractor. A couple of things that might help you in the future are one, the tire rods are adjustable like cars of the early 1900's so maybe you just need to tighten them up by pulling the long cotter pin out of the top and then turning the cap down to snug up the ball inside. That might help your death wobble. Also remember that the fluid needs changed in the injector pump. Two drain bolts on the bottom need removed and then refill it through the top after you remove the vent and overflow cap. Fluid will drip out of the overflow on the side when its full. Keep up the good work!
