God has always been a big part of my life since I was a young boy. I have never really been a devout Christian but ever since I was a boy “I’ve always known that we are not here by some random chance of luck”,or the stars and moon wouldn’t exist anymore than a broken twig resting on the ground at any given time. I am now a 52 year old man, and have never really had any luck or ever so much has ever had anyone in my life I could trust or depend on in any meaningful way. Even my own mother & my immediate family found it easier too discard me and convince everyone around me that I was crazy and a “so-called” habitual liar etc etc To my friends as a kid & too everyone of my other family members too cover up the beatings my older brother was dealing out to me on a daily basis, and killing all of my pets etc etc etc But I guess that’s just what psychopaths do! Now; I’m not saying that because I’m feeling sorry for myself and am wanting empathy or sympathy and oh-whoa is me crap etc Because I assure you that is just tiny fraction of what difficulties and problems throughout my life I’ve had and at times contributed too, and at times I’ve haven’t exactly been the nicest person to be around either. *I am simply saying that when I’ve really needed God to be there, “every single time there he is”! And yes, there’s been times in my life periodically over the years that I’ve all but gotten down on my hands and knees pleading for God too save me from different situations, and in these times he was never to be found…*And these are the times in my life I now look back on thanking God for not helping me because it made me a stronger person! *Well, maybe he did and just didn’t show his hand in these moments??? And yet, right now I am quite contended in my life even though I live alone and don’t have any real friends or anyone I can “or even feel the need” too talk to at this point in my life I still have my faith too fall back on; And that’s really all you need in this world *(faith in God); Because no matter what else happens in your life, he’s really the only person you can count on to be their for you apart from yourself! I ‘ve had some very strange things happen to me personally in my life and 2 that stick-out that I won’t go into detail about or I’ll be here all night. But one is the night I was hitchhiking and was in the middle of nowhere and I hadn’t seen a car for hours and at about 3am I was buggered and thought oh-well I may as well just get off the road and find somewhere to get some sleep and wait till morning. Believe it or not I was just about to go and out of nowhere I heard a distant strong, deliberate, & forceful almost demanding voice in the most, “I don’t know how to explain how it felt”, the most direct voice I’d ever heard in the nicest way you can Imagine…*(And There was absolutely no one there); But what he said was, “go back to the road there’s a car coming by in a minute”! Now at the time I just stopped and I thought too myself did I just really hear that???? But the voice was just so direct and perfectly executed I just knew in all my heart that I could just feel it right down in my soul that I believed everything they said with absolutely no question in my mind body and soul in the slightest bit! Well it did happen, and the person who pulled over & pick me up shortly after happened to be a priest on his way home from a prison being as-though he was the Chaplin who worked there….The very first thing he asked me wasn’t were are you going , instead the first thing he asked me was do you believe in God…..to what I said yes I do but maybe in a different way that you do. Well it turns out he lived with his family about an hour away and he ended up letting me sleep in the spare room and get a few hours sleep; But on the way we started having a philosophical conversation about God and about halfway there I got the distinct impression that he was having a bit of a struggle keeping his faith and at that point I realised why I heard that voice on the side of the road and told him whether you believe me or not this is what happened too me just before he picked me up that night…*And for the record that was 25 odd years ago and if that really was God and not just my imagination… I’ve never heard voices in my head either before or after that night! This one is short and sweet make of it as you will 20 years ago I got in a fight and had a cricket bat smashed into the side of my head. To this day the brain surgeons who saved my life that night still don’t know how I survived with no-more than a little bit of short term memory loss occasionally…See; I’ve seen specialists since and they’ve just as stumped because if you made a fist and placed it above and behind your left ear; *”That much of my brain is dead”! Apparently I shouldn’t be able too walk, talk, go to the toilet properly, or do many other things in a normal everyday way that I still do today. I don’t even get mood swings or constant headaches periodically or anything like that! *(Praise God)! If you think God doesn’t exist or that he isn’t helping you in the darkest moments of your life I assure you; He is; *There’s a reason why he won’t allow you to know he’s around! Hope you liked 2 simple little ways I believe God has impacted on my life. *I only hope it helps you to understand your never alone, and too never give up believing! Thanks this was actually very cathartic.
