Both are a form of polyamide. The omega one is likely a higher grade with higher tensile strength and thermal resistance in comparison to the cheaper alternative shown. Add in the brand tax and the result is the high price you see. Both function fine holding the watch to your wrist. All depends what you are really after from it.

Good vid. As you were not alive when these bracelets were popular in the 1960's, you should know the correct pronunciation: It is pronounced: spy-dell' (emphasis on the second syllable). I believe the name is German in origin. "EI" makes a long "I" sound - like "eye." Other, excellent! Keep at it!

Love the video man. I've had the opportunity to see and feel an omega nato strap in person and it compares basically 1:1 to the artem nato straps, even down to the buckle and positioning of the hardware. And considering the artem nato straps are north of $60, they aren't even the best feeling/most pliable nato straps in that price bracket. I've felt much better seatbelt style nato straps from watchgecko which are just north of $30 USD normally. Just putting my thoughts out there.

I received a small case with a pair of earbuds. It was round, as tall as a watch, flat on top and bottom. I put the watch in a little velvet pouch, then I put the pouch in the earbuds case. It looks allot like the donut shock case. Works perfect.

I don’t like black. I lose small black things in hotels. They vanish and blend into things. A color stands out against other things better.

You lost me when you started on about resale value. I don’t buy watches for that so didn’t watch past 10mins.

I'm sure they're nice but having a spring bar buckle instead of a one-piece buckle is a complete dealbreaker for me. Defeats the whole purpose of a nato strap.

My main watch is a 23 year old swatch irony that i semi retire i send it to their headquarters for service couple of times.

I figured out a consistent method that works on any mechanical watch at any state of wind, but it's less tedious when the VPH is lower. If the watch is say, 3 Hz, then if you grasp the watch firmly and rotate it on the same axis as the hands, back and forth at the same rate as the watch (one turn of the hand at 1/6th a second, another turn another 1/6th), you can sync up with the balance with harmonic motion. Then you can start rotating a bit faster to speed up timekeeping. You can then advance the seconds hand until it syncs up with the true seconds. Then, push the crown in, fully wind the watch, then pull it out and set the hours and minutes. The watch will be 100% accurate.

How’s the winding on this watch? Does it hurt/is uncomfortable to wind the crown manually when it is so close to the ridged bezel? I had one of the older models like this and the winding physically gave me blisters which resulted in me selling it because I found that to be a deal breaker for the price.

Micro adjustments are not "on the fly". Also, the 6 o'clock side should always have more links than the 12 o'clock side. Keeps the clasp off a table top a little better. PLEASE, put a micro cloth on the blue block to prevent scratches on the bracelet.

My Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Panda dial is permantly on a three striped nato, way better look and appeal than the ordinary ugly and noisy bracelet! 116500LN-0001

What's the battey# that goes in this watch. Mine ran out of battery a while back, i removed the old one and it got replaced. Now am figuring out that size goes in.

I haven't seen an image of the Speidel "Twist-O-Flex" bracelet in ages! They have evidently quit advertising & I didn't know that the company still exists. I have a very old one, at least 50 years old, which is still fully functional & the stainless steel does not show significant wear or any other sign of age. Thank you for this video!

Sorry but I dont see the logic in buying strap for seamaster for 200 money. This would imply that also the watch itself is grossly overprised. Which also might be true to some extent today as the price has more that doubled in short time. But so has submariner price so yeah.

Screw pins & push pins are pretty easy once you've done it a couple of times, split pins were ok for me to resize although you have to be more careful, rolled links a nightmare and WORST of all pin and collar rivit style bracelet half done on one now and already drawn blood three times.

You can get a clone strap - same material and colour (with or without a logo) for $20. I own a couple for my Omega Seamaster 300 dive watch. I have no issue with it. I also have the OEM stainless.

I have a Stainless steel Speidel band from the 70s or 80s, they were made in usa then and are of much higher quality than the ones made today. I wasn't aware they made a Alloy metal band by Speidel

I have it on my smartwatch. It does feel cheap but the engineering behind it I am amazed at. I love it and wish more higher end bracelets had this functionality.

Thanks Matt. I have a 1966 Speedmaster and I love it. But must admit that the inability to set the time precisely is the one shortcoming of this superb watch. However, I think I am prepared to live with that as I'd prefer not to do something which the watch wasn't designed for as it just wouldn't feel comfortable to me. As long as the watch is accurate to the minute, I guess that's all I really need in everyday life (and my more obsessional tendencies will just have to deal with it 🤣)
