Im sorry this happened to you. I was working at Lowes for only three years when they closed my store. It was my first job but its the same place my parents and siblings worked. It was sad to see it go.

Wait...was this on the corner of Central and 11th (diagonal to the Tracy Inn) that used to be a Salvation Army? If so, I remember going in there on certain occasions as a kid. I think I read somewhere that that building had been there since before Tracy High's original main building (which, if true, would possibly make it the oldest building on 11th). I REALLY wish they'd try to update or renovate these old buildings rather than tear them down...At least the Cauldron Building (built in 1912) is still standing (and with its original brick exterior!). Where do you get all these great pictures?

Just watched most of the three videos of this you put up...I went inside this building one time back around 1994-1995, and I was only about 5 or 6 at the time. Over the past few years, I've gained an interest in historic buildings, but this building was sadly long gone before that interest came about, which makes it impossible to take a tour in person now. The memories of the one time I did go in are also pretty spotty. As you probably could have guessed already, I didn't go to high school at Tracy High, although I have subbed there many times (looking to become a history teacher). I take it you went to Tracy High? If so, did you have a teacher named John Treantos? I had him in college, but I know he also taught at Tracy High for many years. Today I made a visit to the historic museum in Tracy, and they have yearbooks from Tracy High going back into at least the 20's along with many exterior photos (including at least one aerial view). They're still having to search a bit for interior photos, but I was wondering if I could share your slideshows with them. I'm sure they'd be useful for those seeking out more photos of this old building. I do wish they could have kept some of this building in tact for touring purposes, but they did manage to save the old dedicatory plaque (which is now posted right outside the front doors of their new building). On a related note, they've been working on demolishing Central Elementary's original building (built in 1938) in Tracy. I went in there once and it was pretty cool to see a school that old still in use in Tracy. They were originally trying to preserve the brick exterior, but structure-compromising mold and the presence of asbestos are never a good combination, so the whole thing had to come down. Thankfully, they did have an open house for people to come see the building before it was taken down. I certainly wish I could have gone in the Old West Building again before it was taken down. Could I share these videos?

Your pain is shared by so many people that have gone through this... my 23 year old cat Ebony Valentine died, and left me heartbroken :( Farfy had so many wonderful years with you, and I'm sure his last thoughts were of you, and all the memories he stored away and took with him on the final journey. Rest in gentle peace, sweet kitty

my cat is dying in my arms as I type this. attacked by dogs I ran to ER she was ok for 3 days but seems like the new medicine they gave to her made it worse. I know how you feel, I can't stop crying because she rally wanted to live but doogs are strong =( Sorry I guess I just wanted to reach out

This building reminds me of the old elementary school building in my hometown of Nipomo, California that was demolished in 1986 when I was 10 years old. The quadrafoil designs on the walls with the mission look. Hate to see these old buildings demolished instead of restored. I know people talk about earthquake safety etc. There is alot of history in these buildings and it is ashame to see them go.

I know that thos was three years ago, but still... I felt for you and your Farfy. I've had to put my sick cats down too. It hurts deep down inside. Pets are family... and I have two cats as family- right now. Them too I will sorely miss- when they're gone. Thanx... for loving him so.

bradster..I have 2 cats..one with diabetes. He's 10 years old and if it was the right thing to put him down to ease his pain I would do it with great trepidation. I don't worry about cost because if it's to prolong his life for a month or 2? Well,it's a tough decision to make. They become part of the family and they are our friends.

What a wonderful touching video. I always wished I had videos of my old animal friends. I am sure that Farfy is looking down at you from kitty heaven.

@Annelizeification his rapid weight loss was more apparrent after i had him shaved for the first i could see he was so sick,they never told me at the vet office they wanted to run like 750.00 dollars worth of tests,i always took great care of these pets i spent thousands over the course of thier lives,they vet did tell me it could be 2 things diabetas or thyroid problem.but farfy was at 3 and a half pounds and had lost too much muscle to recover,in retro i will always watch my pets weight,...

I didn't know how much it would hurt when i lost my friends. And multiply that pain times 3. When someone says they have lost their loving companion my heart understands now. What i can't understand is that millions of animals die unloved and without wonderful names we give them in those death factories they came to be in. I know that Cats go to Heaven. Please God let it be so.

thanks wolf its my high school tracy high in tracy ca,they built it in 1917 destroyed it in 2006,reason was after many earthquakes and substandard building thresholds back in the day it was basicly empty unused aside from a few offices very unsafe,they decided to knock it down and built in its place a retro school,a lookalike but 100% functional,thanks for the interest i checked out your page too you have some cool vids,taaake care bp

unfortunently i took him in to the vet that day and he weighed 4 pounds',they told be he lost to much muscle mass and that he could be thousands of bucks if i had the money i would have payed it or identified the problem earlier,but i kida failed my pet in a way,but he will always be the best pet i ever had,,,b
