Ek Phnom Temple is one of the oldest temples built during the reign of King Sury yavaroman seconds in the 11th century, during the period of 1002 to 1050 during the Maha nokor period, to dedicate to the deity of Brahmanism. Immortal no longer faces sorrow, old age, sickness, and death. Later, kings, nobles, officials, and the people turned to Buddhism, and some of the relics of the Devaraja religion were left unattended, leading to a series of natural disasters, wickedness, and war.
In the area of ​​"Prasat Ek Phnom", the authorities and the locals agreed to build a pagoda and a temple for the monks to live in, which is called "Wat Ek", and the locals came to celebrate the festival. . According to the elders there, this pagoda was first established in the 18th century, 1757 AD, which is now more than 200 years old. Because there is such a pagoda near the temple, this temple is called "Wat Ek Phnom".
This pagoda is located about 8 km north of Battambong city. Due to age and our country suffered many wars, this pagoda was badly damaged. But in 1991, the church was renovated and was completed and inaugurated in 2001.
The statue to the north of the temple was built in 2003 by the pagoda's chief priest and the people, as well as local and foreign Buddhists, and is about 25 meters high.
