Shushunova stuck DTY 1988
Due to recent events I've been on a Shushunova video binge and came across this gem. Kind of sad it happened here in PT and not the EF, but hey, what can you do?
Forms a little ragged though still better than the vast majority of current elites and she gets great height and distance (though I don't know how much her coach helped her there).

My personal Favorite floor routines in WAG. Sorry it's so long, it was originally supposed to be 10 routines but there were just too many I liked. Even 15 was difficult to narrow down to. I also only allowed 1 routine per gymnast. So a shout out to all those routines that just missed my top 15! Daniella Silivas (any routine). Nastia Liukin (2005 worlds). Yelena Shushunova (1987 worlds). Oksana ...
Shannon Miller’s gold beam performance is so interesting, and Komova has so much power and height in her flips. Wow! 2024 beam is so boring. I hate the new code of points.

I would add Roza Galiyeva's All-Around beam routine from the '96 Olympics (might have won Beam Finals except she fell)

So many iconic routines on this list - but how could you possibly leave out Kui YuanYuan from world EF 1997? It’s surely up there in the top 5 all time!
Pointing toes is no longer important and I think it is such a shame. I can't enjoy a routine if toes are sloppy. I was a gymnast in Ireland 🇮🇪 so I do know something about the sport.

Modern gymnastics has really taken the artistic out of gymnastics. Much more boring much more skill-based less about artistry and beauty

These were the real pros. They had guts and total grace. Stuck their landings, too. I’m underwhelmed by today’s gymnasts. Too emotional and no creativity.
Dangg, Yang Bo and Olesia Dundik's routine (beside her horrendous split series lol) were testaments on how you can still be graceful have artistry and have a difficult routine. Nowadays gymnasts look like they're chucking skills instead of going through the motion

Wevers should've been here instead of Mustafina. Aliya is a great power gymnastic but the artistry is entirely missing. She's so boring to watch.
Gymnastics has left artistry and creativity behind for bonus points and connection points. Sad.
I blame the WAGs and American gymnasts for that. Not a single lot of them have a figment of artistry anymore. Biles is just power move (also can we ban that ugly ass Wolf turn already).
What a fun watch! few odd choices but everyone has their own opinion. Silvia’s needs a top 5 spot. I’d also add Dudnik 89, Bogi 89, Pavlova 08, Lily Pod 96 and Onodi 92. Maybe you need 30? 😂 Thanks for the less known ones loved Deliana 88 so under rated I’ve always thought ❤
