I just subscribed to your channel. Awesome video :) I am brand new to all of this FPV aspect of RC aviation. I have been involved in the hobby since the 70's and for the last 5 years I have been flying electric airplanes and helicopters and quads but not any with FPV except for my DJI Phantom. I just started getting in to the FPV side of the hobby and I am using Vr D2 Pro box goggles and I ordered the Shuriken 250 with DSMX because I fly with a DX9 and I don't want to have to buy a FRSKY Taranis to fly FPV. I am pretty sure this will apply to the 250 the same as the 180. I run a facebook group with just under 2,000 members and I have about 2,000 subscribers on my youtube channel and I learn something new almost daily with the hobby. It gives me hope seeing others using Spektrum with FPV in this hobby because Spektrum flyers are the minority. I have a hunch I am going to spark interest at our local airfield and in my RC groups my experience using Spektrum gear in a Taranis world.

im really new to quad flying. i just bought a DX6E spectrum and also have the holybro X1. can you PLEASE tell me how to configure the controller to work with my remote if possible or info to where i can find it,. thank you

I have dx9 as well but I m get in the holybro x1 flash with betaflight why you cancel gear channel ?

How did you get it to say alt,rol,pit,yaw, when I go on helicopter or plane that doesn't come up??

No need to send the file.. You can attach CleanFlight (Google Chrome Extension), and choose firmware flasher, select latest SPRacingF3 stable release, set baud to 256K, and then Load Firmware>Flash firmware.

Thank goodness! You just saved me some trouble. Just flashed the firmware in cleanflight after spending 3 hours trying to get it to connect on three different computers and many downloads of drivers only to find that my USB cable was no good. Not the first time ARRRRG

I did not need to short the pads at all. Since then, I upgraded to the latest motors, and reverted to cleanflight, and it still is the same procedure. I don't think it matters with BF...I only went back to cleanflight to try some different advanced settings.

Eric when you flashed the 180 to BF 3.0 did you have to short out the Boot Loader pads? One youtube channel flashed the Shuriken 250 without shorting them out and was not sure about the 180 since he did not have one to test but said it probably would be the same. Another youtube channel had a 180 but shorted them out right off the bat and did not attempt to flash without them being shorted, just wondering if I need to open it up and short out the pads to flash it with BF, don't want to soldier something if I don't need to. Haven't had any issues with binding. I would recommend you try a different cable though, sometimes that is the culprit. ;)

Did you have any issues with binding? I got mine to bind once but it would not keep. I'm using a DX7

Eric, Thank you for making this video. I just ordered a Shuriken 250 and will be using my DX8Gen2 to fly it with. I hope the setting for the 250 will be the same as for your 180 as when it comes to Cleanflight or Betaflight I am as lost as an ostrich in Antarctica. I have a Walkera Rodeo 150 that came with the Devo7 Xmitter and I simply connect it to Cleanflight just to see what it looked like and now it won't fly at all. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the Shuriken 180.

Eric I want to thank you for your video Without it I would still be trying to arm it With no instructions in the pack I think it's pretty poor It only seems logical that not all of us are clever enough to figure out the settings and rely on people such as yourself to help out Why they wouldn't explain through an instruction manual is beyond me you deserve a big pat on the back I've put it into my dx18 and it works beautifully Thanx again for your help It's much appreciated

Not sure on the 6i.. I had to also reverse yaw and pitch, and all my travel rates to 147/-146. When you are in cleanflight you can see what ranges the ESCs are set to (mine 1000-2000, and 1050 spool up), and what ranges your DX6 is outputting.

i am using a dx6.. will it apply to me as well?
