Am i the only one who flinched?
So beautiful. It sings to my soul...
First thing was..that’s bad ass
Look what I have 😂😂 Gaahhhbage
This sucks
Shaking like a heavy ass pig should. Don’t go any faster because you’re 3.2” of poooorly dampened travel will disappear and disappoint. To get the vehicle to off-road at some kind of reasonable speed you have to loose weight! I’ve raced trucks for 3 years in Mexico and the Mojave. Off road ing. Is all about only bringing exactly what you need.
You ok over there?
Gettin pulled over
In 5…4…3..
Us tc people are interesting humans
Dude thanks for sharing this build. I like your ideas and am totally inspired.
You’re welcome, curious to hear what’s it’s got you thinking of cooking up!
Saw the exact same thing on the freeway in San Francisco 30 years ago. Only the guy was pointing tge trumpet out the window. We’ll never forget that.
Crazy people out there!
that’s just f’d up what made you post this and not even have the respect to blur out or cut his plate out like what is wrong with this generation yall dry snitchin on SOCIAL MEDIA ON PPL YALL DONT KNOW
Sounds like this is you banging out some notes on the highway. Did you get to practice on time?
Hahaha😂
Lol 😂
Gotta practice those notes!!!!!!
When you procrastinate and don’t rehearse for the big show!
Wat was he doing my eyesight is trippin😂
Playing a trumpet
He was tooting the horn…but just the wrong one
Bro on the road is insane
People do some stupid things on the road 🤦♂️
Where can I buy the gazzelle tent holder. I'm getting a r1s next week
It’s the Sleeper Keeper by American Adventure Lab, great product for a great price. americanadventurelab.com/product/sleeper-keeper-large-tent-mount/
Pismo
Would you share the GPS coordinates @0:45 by the creek?
Im less concerned about the bees and more concerned about what is going on with that intersection
Haha that’s Southern California for ya
I will never buy an electric vehicle. Ever.
I used to think the same thing
@@TheOverlandStory so I think there are a few issues. They have more mechanical problems. More expensive to repair and maintain. You need to have a charger installed at home and electricity is not cheap anymore. I believe fuel wise gas is cheaper per mile than electric. Also runaway thermal fire risk and lastly the insurance is more than a gas vehicle. If you are wealthy they would probably make a good second vehicle but not a daily driver for the average person.
I’ve had 3 EVs. I spend about $100 per year to charge them, the rest is handled by solar (25k miles driven per year). My insurance on the Rivian is $42/month. Rivian battery and motor warranty is 175k miles. Electric motors and batteries, if they fail they fail early on in their life, otherwise they last nearly forever.
A electric car or truck without a conventional looking grill Looks like a piece of crap. Why take away the grill Why not just leave the grill The air circulation might help to keep the goddamn piece of S--- from catching fire 😂😂😂😂
There’s a massive frunk behind the grill, it’s not needed. All the cooling is done below where the grill would be just above the bumper.
Happy birthday America ◡̈⋆ⒽⒶⓅⓅⓎ😊
Muted that nasty music! You're not monetized so you may as well put it to AC/DC Thumbs up for Ground top tents! 👍
Hi, where do you store your skis?
That funhaver❤
Right? Awesome rig
Cute & happy kids! 😊
Made an attempt yesterday. First stretch is so washed out. I had to turn around as it went from minor trenches to giant boulders maybe 30 minutes into the trail.
It was pretty washed out last season, but with the winters we’ve been having not surprised it’s even worse.
You could get a civic to that lake if you know how to drive😒 lake is beautiful, “trail” is meant for a power wheels jeeps
I’d pay good money to see that!
I do. And they can call it civic hill just like Cadillac hill on the rubicon…
I wouldn’t doubt it possible… In 1999 I did it in a 2nd 1996 reg cab Dodge Dakota. The summer before Covid I made it in a 2012 4runner trail while in 2wd. The trail is not very difficult. If you get sketched just get out and stack some rocks.
@@joey1957 exactly. Just gotta know how to drive and what line to pick
Simple and easy, thank you
You’re welcome, glad it was helpful!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What’s the spot called that you camped last in the video ?
Was this a camper off the same 15-current f150 bed or from an older model?
Correct 2015+ F150
Looks like fun!
"promo sm" 😓
Nice footage of the devil’s staircase. It’s hard to capture the steepness on video but you did better than most. Do you think the Rivian could climb it?
Thank, yeah it’s quite steep! Good question, the Rivian suffers a bit from stall torque, but if you were to really go for it and try to carry momentum I suppose it would.
Thanks for the video. Watched as recommended by you on Twitter. I like this option, way more affordable than others like Jackery / Anker. Quick question, with that small battery pack and solar panels, in case you needed to charge some, how much energy would you gain? Have you tested? I knot it would be little and and very slow, but curious about actual numbers.
The solar I have will refill in a day, but you can also refill off the truck in ~45 minutes and take just over a mile of range. That’s really the kicker, it’s the fact that keeping the inverter (outlets) on the truck on for so long absolutely kills the battery because the truck stays awake and won’t sleep. By shortening the time it’s awake and quickly transferring power to the power bank you can avoid all that. Honestly I wouldn’t bother with the solar.
Looks fun!
Did you track the fuel mileage differences from before and after?
Raptors don't get great mpgs to begin with but I saw about a 1-1.5 mpg drop overall. Not bad really
Just somthing about being out there
100%
500 to 1k jeep no lockers no upgrades other than good tires and a cooler full of yoohoos you can go anywhere. But I'm glad to see you ain't scared to put to test something more expensive ngl it does get kinda boring seeing nothing but jeeps at the trails 😅
Out in California it’s 60% Toyotas, 30% jeeps and 10% other. Starting to see more and more Rivians on the trails which is cool.
what happened to people just riding quads and dirt bikes? they are much more fun than worrying about wrecking your 60k trucks.
Those people ended up starting families and having kids. I remember the good ol days fondly…
How tight was the trail on the Raptor! Amazing video!
One of the final switchbacks was a bit sketchy, mostly due to break over angle and turning radius. Otherwise no issues
@@TheOverlandStory awesome to hear! I really want to try this trail and knowing you did it in your raptor is giving me the confidence to try it also.
Go for it, totally worth the trip!
@@TheOverlandStoryDo you think an F-250 tremor would make it?
I’ve been seeing EV’s out there the last couple of years. How do you guys keep them charged?
There’s 24 fast chargers in Yucca Valley, and the last couple years Optima has brought out fast chargers into the desert as well. Haven’t need to use them but no different than filling up your tank in the last town before heading into Johnson Valley.
Would loved to have met you at the Optima Unplugged & Rivian Clubs of America meet up with all of the Rivians. Next time ◡̈
I know it! I wanted to swing by, I’ll try and do it next time. Does the club have any meetups coming up?
The train of Starlink sats was pretty funny
It was, the following night we ended up seeing them again at Alabama Hills
@@TheOverlandStory I'm seeing them all the time now when I hit my land out in the WV mountains. Combination of charming and disturbing.
Totally agree
Great Lake and 4x4 trail. Specially with those 2 Jeep Gladiators in the background. Were they part of your group? Thank you for sharing your trip.
Couldn't agree more. They weren't, and besides them we only saw one other SXS on the trail while we were setting up camp.
Rattlesnake canyon?
Nailed it!
Awesome!🪨
There’s a guy i always see in anza borrego in a 1996 Buick who mobs trails harder than this one
That’s epic, surprised we haven’t seen him before. Also… this trail isn’t Anza Borrego..
@@TheOverlandStory yeah that was hardly enough trail for me to immediately recognize it, I was just saying I see that dude in borrego a lot. It’s an old faded red LaCrosse I think. Watching him cruise right by people stuck in sand is absolutely one of the most hilarious off-road experiences ever.
That’s amazing, I’ll keep my eye out for him!
