MS Brissie to the Bay 2022: 100km Course Timelapse
มุมมอง 6702 ปีที่แล้ว
Taking part in the annual charity ride for Multiple Sclerosis Queensland! This was a chilly and cold ride. A good scenic route outbound to the bay. The inbound route back to Brisbane is somewhat less scenic, and on major roads with heavier car traffic. The final 10km was surprisingly hilly and tough on the quads. Overall a well-organised event, with a mix of police control and standard road rul...
Brisbane Half Marathon 2022

The 2022 course is a somewhat hilly event with three hairpin U-turns, going over the Storey Bridge, Kangaroo Point, New Farm, Teneriffe, and back to the finish at Botanical Gardens. The full marathon is two laps of the half marathon course. Race strategy was to keep an easy pace and aim for around the 2 hour mark. Felt awesome throughout and no niggles. Official finish net time 2:01:36! www.str...

A big thank you to the city and residents of Brisbane for hosting this amazing event! We were blessed with a sunny Sunday morning 10 April 2022. The ride was well-organised and I definitely would recommend it. The entry fee was a bit more expensive, however, you get a fully closed route. www.strava.com/activities/6956878073 tourdebrisbane.org/ Music Promoted by Music & Gene at TH-cam: th-cam.co...

Brisbane Floods 2022, West End High Tide

On Sunday 27 Feb 2022 at 7.40am the Brisbane River reached a peak flood level for the year. A combination of La Niña, heavy rainfall in the Brisbane River catchment in the week preceding, the Wivenhoe Dam upstream releasing its flood storage, and high tide at 7.40am meant the Brisbane River exceeded 2013 flood levels, however has remained short of 2011 levels. Footage shows scenes of inundation...

My favorite cycling route!
I'm a cyclist that does a similar loop but the guys seriously need to ride single file especially in the narrow shoulder parts. The guy in blue at 1:07:07 what a muppet
I like how that there are crows at the traffic lights yelling out, 'car, car'.
Wish this was still run
It's like watching zwift, but prettier 😁
Great vid👍🏼
what gear are you using for the heads-up display on the video recording?
How hard would it be for a complete beginner?
Depends on the level of preparation. Give yourself a training plan to prepare, these are widely available if you search on Google!
What is the price of the 2021 August 29 t shirt please tell me
What app did you use to create the overlay?
Garmin Virb Edit
@@Flooshy it's a cool feature
Was it difficult or relatively flat ?
Quite hilly for a bit of it, the section running up the cliff side behind Howard Smith Wharves especially
Thanks AussieInJapan, this is one of my favourite routes to do Brisbane so far, and the paths are indeed pretty good
This was definitely not a normal occurrence - on a Sunday and during the pandemic!
Ah that makes sense.
That view is worth the climb up. Love looking at the Brisbane skyline as you head to the city. Sound of birds too is so nice. Might be good to edit the bits where camera keeps running with ankle recordings though.
Looks like a really good ride. Traffic looked really light even around 7am to 8am, was this a weekend or public holiday?
Thanks for posting, like I posted on a mother video really amazed how much infrastructure there is for cycling and expected much more on road riding to get out to the bay.
oh nooooooo! missed the finish effort
Nooooooooo :(
There were coffee beans and Lycra bike pants everywhere...
So crazy to see somewhere you know well under water like that. Was taking my son to those rowing sheds for about four years. Walked along there last week and they are still trying to remove the mud.
I used to go to west end market every saturday in 2015-2016
Best content on youtube mate. Keep up the good work🔥
Thanks Tony! When you wanna join us?
Nice. What app is that you're using to make this?
Thanks! I’ve used Garmin VIRB Edit.
Honestly I don't get why people go along the tip with all these speed bumps they give me the shits. Love to cut through uq through the bus area and get some speed up for the three sisters
Totally understand! I guess that’s also why we rarely go full gas around the tip - to add to that the traffic can get quite congested trying to avoid doors, overtaking cars, and other cyclists. Might give the bus area a try next time. Thanks for the tip Jack.
@@Flooshy mmm hot tip - cut straight through mill road to upland road?
need a way of extending the battery life! - missing the last effort back to the crit
Sadly the gimbal malfunctioned - there was a good race going on at the crit track too
Awesome stuff! Love the content😀
I've been interested in riding out here along a similar route but jesus the traffic on the road and the poor infrastructure... i think i'll pass this time haha
Too right Jack! Was sketchy at times and I recommend leaving early enough to avoid major traffic. In future I would avoid coming back inbound on Finucane Road/Old Cleveland Road, though it the most direct. Glad we tried it though, the 100km MS Brissie to the Bay uses some of this route.
Nice vid. Should get yourself some watts showing on the screen would be nice.
I did this ride today. It was brutal, especially the part where you think you must be close to the top and you read the sign “half way”
Good stuff we went up today as well. You might have passed me on the way up!
@@Flooshy Haha , I dont think I passed anyone !! I will do it again but no immediate plans to make it a regular torture session !! Thanks for posting the video.
Seems to be a lot of vehicles riding near you - i thought the whole purpose of this type of thing was to restrict that?
The organisers did manage to get permission to use the vehicle-free busway for the first 15km. The rest of the route was shared with other road users, with police/marshal control at some of the larger intersections. Generally felt pretty safe and most vehicles kept a safe distance when overtaking. Thanks for watching!
Roads are open, but the route is relatively quiet. The faster/earlier groups have a bit more police control.
Nice work on the ride, the video and nice music!
Hey Jeffrey cool video man, great ride see you out there next time 👍
Haha you found me! Agreed it was a great ride. Until next time!
