John and Herod: Sex, Politics, and Religion
This woman is so fake.
Im joining CNF. To attend church service fully nude. 😀
There's a big difference between the Baptism of John the Baptist and the Baptism in Acts 2. Namely Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
I read Acts 2. John the Baptist and the Baptism in Acts 2 are not the same. As in Afrikaans, I said John the Baptist, Baptise when people repent. ( Bekerings doop). Jesus said it's now the New Covenant, and He baptise believers with the Holy Spirit. With John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit wasn't poured out yet. But when Jesus went to Heaven, He poured out the Holy Spirit and believers with their children were Baptise. In Afr.: "Bekeringsdoop versus Verbondsdoop"
Women shouldn't be priests.
i heard New Zealand was off the wall, but jeez
Amen.
SPEAKING ON 16TH JANUARY 2023... Sadly now, the national anthem of New Zealand called ''God Defend New Zealand'' all written in feminine was no longer with us. We have lost Her Majesty's Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022. She died at the age of 96. In fact, this is ''God Defend New Zealand'' in masculine. A new King in the UK, a new reigning monarch, a new era of royal family members and a new head of the Commonwealth. King Charles III. There are 56 countries of the Commonwealth. Russell Watson, Aled Jones, Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Vincent Niclo, Andrea Bocelli, Mario Frangoulis, Katherine Jenkins, Laura Wright, Sarah Brightman, Hayley Westenra, Charlotte Church, Carmen Monarcha, Andre Rieu, Carla Maffioletti, Kimmy Skota, Mairead Nesbitt, Orla Fallon, Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, Chloe Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Simon Rattle, Mirusia Louwerse, Anna Majchrzak, Ellen Williams, London Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Celtic Woman team and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra can sing. It has only one verse in Maori and five verses in English Here are the lyrics. #GodDefendNewZealand #GodSaveTheQueen #QueenElizabethII #GodSaveTheKing #KingCharlesIII #RussellWatson #AledJones #AlfieBoe #MichaelBall #VincentNiclo #AndreaBocelli #MarioFrangoulis #KatherineJenkins #LauraWright #SarahBrightman #HayleyWestenra #CharlotteChurch #CarmenMonarcha #AndreRieu #CarlaMaffioletti #KimmySkota #MaireadNesbitt #OrlaFallon #MeavNiMhaolchatha #ChloeAgnew #LisaKelly #SimonRattle #MirusiaLouwerse #AnnaMajchrzak #EllenWilliams #LondonSymphonyOrchestra #SingaporeSymphonyOrchestra #BerlinPhilharmonicOrchestra #CelticWoman #RTENationalSymphonyOrchestra (VERSE 1 ONLY IN MAORI) (VERSE 1) E Ihowā Atua, O ngā iwi mātou rā Āta whakarangona; Me aroha noa Kia hua ko te pai; Kia tau tō atawhai; Manaakitia ana Aotearoa (VERSES 2-6 IN ENGLISH) (VERSE 2) God of Nations at Thy feet, In the bonds of love we meet, Hear our voices, we entreat, God defend our free land. Guard Pacific's triple star From the shafts of strife and war, Make his praises heard afar, God defend New Zealand. (VERSE 3) Men of every creed and race, Gather here before Thy face, Asking Thee to bless this place, God defend our free land. From dissension, envy, hate, And corruption guard our state, Make our country good and great, God defend New Zealand. (VERSE 4) Peace, not war, shall be our boast, But, should foes assail our coast, Make us then a mighty host, God defend our free land. Lord of battles in Thy might, Put our enemies to flight, Let our cause be just and right, God defend New Zealand. (VERSE 5) Let our love for Thee increase, May Thy blessings never cease, Give us plenty, give us peace, God defend our free land. From dishonour and from shame, Guard our country's spotless name, Crown his with immortal fame, God defend New Zealand. (VERSE 6) May our mountains ever be Freedom's ramparts on the sea, Make us faithful unto Thee, God defend our free land. Guide his in the nations' van, Preaching love and truth to man, Working out Thy glorious plan, God defend New Zealand. Written by Thomas Bracken, (ENGLISH) Thomas Henry Smith (MAORI) Music by John Joseph Woods
If a man grows a boob inside his bowel he can sit on the face of a brat, unless he's just Graped.
A fine sounding organ
This is blasphemy. Abraham never failed God
Galatians 1: I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel, which is not just another account; but there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, even now I say again: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

You abandon virtually all biblical truth to suit your left wing agenda. And look how effective it is, you have 4 views in 5 days. Time to repent.
good words
I enjoyed hearing Anton speaking, and I often tune in from Wellington. It's nice that the services are on TH-cam, so I can replay them at anytime. This music is always wonderful. I have been to St Matthew's in the City, so I can pretend to be there again. In Wellington, thankfully, i can attend church in person again. We feel for you all in Tamaki Makaurau at this time.
Thanks for the feedback Cecily; glad you can join us online and hopefully soon we will be back in church too.
A beautiful service thank you. God bless 🙌🙏❤
A lovely service, Helen. Thank you all.
Awesome
God/Jesus/Holy spirit bless you Elaine! I'm sure all your previous students and colleges wish you were still teaching at the University of Auckland, though, i'm sure they are wishing you a blessed and well deserved retirement! May my luck not run out and may I still meet more distinguished professors such as you again....though, you have given more than enough!

Up until the early 1960’s there was also a brass vase which seems to have disappeared, that was part of the memorial to Hilda Fricker. It was always on the ledge above the plaque in memory of Hilda Fricker. Flowers were kept in the vase as part of the floral decorations in the Church and of course as a remember ace of Hilda Fricker.
Enjoyed the gospel reading Molly!
Crikey! Even Her Majesty would be impressed!
Brilliant!
Haha... even I know it’s said as Far-know not Far-now...
Hi Wilf.. thanks for the Sermon ... Really appreciated it. Jan & Michael

“Wild High Church Excesses...” clearly the professor has a propensity for all things low.

Thank you for this. I particularly enjoyed the reading and prayers.Lovely imagery
Thank you to all of you making this service, a very beautiful service, I especially enjoyed the music and singing, the sermon and prayers, the video of St Mathew in the City at a previous Easter service. It was all very special, and encouraging at this very unusual Easter time.Happy Easter to you all. Jenny Beale
Oh thank you to all those involved in putting together today's service. I really needed this - I felt a sense of community and enjoyed it very much. I don't live in the city and so I'd like to stay connected to St Mathews from now on in this way - as I see you have begun to do services more and more online. Once again many thanks. Happy Easter... Light overcomes darkness... we continue to move forward in peace, with grace and hope in our hearts - and with a deep love for our world.
Thank you so much for the beautiful services. I am following the Holy Week series from Colombo in Sri Lanka. God Bless all at St Matt’s 🙏🙏🙏
A superb improvisation Paul, great to hear that organ again.
I had the pleasure of working with the Willis firm on installing and building parts of this instrument. It is great to have an instrument here in NZ from Willis'. The organ was placed in its current position as that was the place set aside for such an instrument, with the 'pit' at the back to house the large pedal pipes. Overall a great instrument and superb sound.
At 7.46 you see the tall arch that housed the original Willis/Lawton/Croft organ which was placed on the floor behind the choir. At slightly above ground level this organ 'got out into the building'. It is sad that with all the funds spent, the new Willis organ was consigned to the triforium where the sound is trapped. Half way down the aisle the sound dies :( . I know the building well; I was involved in the rebuilding of the 1930's Lawton instrument in the 1970's, and I was married there in 1978.I think the position of the old organ is now a café space?
The European position high on the west wall was always best. The English had this peculiar idea of putting these things in side apses so the sound got muted. Pointless.
@Richard Harrold Thank you got the information.
@@marksmale827 Actually above the choir screen works best, you need the choir organ for choral evensong/ mattins at the East end, a West end organ is absolutely useless for this task
God bless you Elaine......wish I could go back in time and read all of your required readings for your paper and spend at least 10 hours of study for your class's........still thinking of you in my wilderness project i'm doing at the moment..........here's wishing you a joyful retirement!
May God richly bless u bishop John osmers.
This was the first sermon I attended at St Matthews and it was very thought provoking.
As a visitor from England I found this talk and service very rewarding and interesting.
