I love it was my raquet of choice in my youth the prestige flexpoint a masterpiece
Nice that’s a great racquet!!
Dumbed down rackets are for weak players . The head weight is the only limitation with running ball accesability . You can work with the strings for more spin and it's very precise over long distances ... I will not pay for these new gen update dumbed down rackets which cost more and have poorer performance .
Yes that’s part of the problem that we have. Brand are forced to updated their racquets too often so at the end there is not always an improvement
@AlexTennisChannel Selling to lowest common denominator while destroying their brand in the process . T fight 305 is now becoming like a white out which is like a prince ats textreme tour . You might as well try the updated carbin of the pro kennex black ace pro , everyone is leveling each other , yet going nowhere . 2 generations ago there was superior performance in rackets . At the end of the day racket companies like car companies are trying to restructure their products in their rebranding . The t- fight now looking like racket on ozempic , a t -lite and a t-might vs a t-fight .
What do you play with?
@sportscastercanada Dunlop CX 200 tour 18x20 2021 editions . I used various different strings and patterns for different uses to maximize their uses . I have different specs on them as well . I plan on getting a poss volkl c10 pro or poss pure strike 97 . I will try some updated rackets in the spring , since I am in NY but tend to work best with thin beam 95 to 98's. I believe the t-fight 305 was best with the gen before the iso and 100 % works optimally with razorcode 16 . I also really like the head prestige tour. I worry that they will dumb down the prestige in the next update . So ultimately for an all court seve volley game , tactical doubles make me look for the larger size head and changed string pattern . I have a size 2 grip and these are the best performers so far with less stress and ongoing value . Prince ripstick was alot of fun as well . Solinco white out like prince textreme tours and solinco white out are very singles focused in feel . Solinco white out on low ground ball reach will make rip up your head guard and costvyou alot on long-term care to replace strings , stringing and the head guard .
Thanks Coach Alex! A lot of history behind the Prestige name forsure!🏆 definitely not for players that just swing across their chest! 😬 gotta use the power from the ground up! Is there a Pro player that you are looking at to really make a move in 2025?? I hope it's a great exciting new year on tour 🎾 Great job with this video 📸 thanks again 🙏
That’s a great question! I’ll have to go with Gabriel Diallo! I’m looking forward to his 2025 seasons!! Maybe he can break the top 30 mark🎾🎾
@AlexTennisChannel Cool!! I will keep a eye out for him 🎾 thanks 💯
I tried a Blade v7 18/20 with quite some weight added for two or three years. Great when attacking. Even better when the ball comes with some speed. But not so great when on the back foot. You really have to swing out, even when you barely reach the ball. That's why I dropped it and moved on to something with a little more power on its own. But for what those racquets are made they are just great!
Yes you are right! It’s pretty tough to play those racquets in tournaments or in real games. That’s why the more powerful racquets are now more popular!
@AlexTennisChannel With enough weight those racquets are more than only playable. But at the time I was unable to handle 360g in my hand. My arm hurt badly even after short practice sessions. But it was a nuke of a racquet, I can tell you that! Every more modern racquet would have been cometely out of control.
Everyone roots for power and spin these days. Hopefully the Prestige line will survive.
Yes because it’s a great line for sure!
how would this compare to the Ezone 100
@@vaughnbiggs3565 its definitely more control oriented even compared to the Ezone 98. It would be comparable to a Head Radical or Wilson Blade. Thanks for watching 🎾🎾
Hello Alex, diference with 2022 version ? higher SW is noticeable and very demanding ? thanks from Argentina.
Not demanding it’s easier to generate power that’s the biggest difference!
Switched to this racquet from previous VCore Pro 97D. This frame really works with my old school, all-court game. It was a little light for me, so as to not get pushed around on the baseline, I added 4g to the head at 10&2 o'clock and another 4g to the throat sides. I string with full bed of YTex Hexagon-X Red @ 46lbs. Thanks for the review.
@@mikejeweler Nice seems like a great setup for sure!!
Since you will be able to demo more racquets, my suggestion would be to try a couple different strings setups that you find appropriate with the frame that you test. I think it would be an added value from your reviews. Keep up the good work!
That’s a great idea! Thanks a lot!!
I though that wilson revolve was a very soft poly string like head lynx, while your feedback is that is quite stiff! Which round soft poly do you recommend in full bed with a bit of free power? Thanks
That’s a great question! I like the Head Sonic Pro, the Yonex PolyTour pro and the Völkl Vtorque tour!!
Alex, what about the new 2025 Ezone 100? Some are saying that it is even more powerful than the PD.
When I will have tried the racquet I will let you know!😉
Coach Alex, have you tried the new version: 2025 Ezone 100 V8? If so, impressions?
No unfortunately but soon I will be able!!
Excellent! I will be picking up a new Ezone 98 after I make sure I like it.
Perfect! Let me know what you think of it!
@ Will do. Loved the 2022 but it hurt my elbow hoping the new one would be more comfy. Been using whiteout 18x20 in the meantime. With my new OHBH, I want the more headlight racquet.
Sounds like the Ezone 2025 could be a great fit!
Thanks Coach Alex! my advice, haha I don't know if you want it, but I do consult with many tennis teachers, is to keep your channel FUN!! for yourself and don't overdo it, keep it simple and something you can do easily so it doesn't become overwhelming and consume all your time! Thanks again 🎾🙋♂️☑️🙏💯
Thanks a lot for everything Nathan!!
@@AlexTennisChannel 💯🤜🤛🙏
A deeper analysis of brands . Poss having interviews if poss with company regional reps like Volkl , Babalot and others . Real consumer issues with consumer concerns and product analysis that is more independent and researched . Also , poss going to local or regional tennis events like in Montreal to see if it's worth going to them . Overall tennis scean in that region . Light weight shoe product perspectives for performance . Basicly define who you are targeting as an audience and your age demographic . You are young so speaking to your audience that allows for your knowledge and growth is key .
@@derekpappas1556 Thanks a lot for your feedback it worths a lot to me!!
I bought a 18x20 today and got it strung at 50lbs....Will start hitting tomorrow. I added no lead for weight anywhere. I already like the feel.
Nice let me know when you will hit with it!
@@AlexTennisChannel Sure buddy. A couple of days ago, I had purchased an Artengo 990 power and used it with stock strings. I really liked the feel. But surprisingly, power was not what I felt, going by the name of the model. I felt a good amount of control rather.
Perfect! Thanks for the feedback!!
Actually polyester strings came way before Luxilon. Among some of the first manufacturers were Pacific and Gosen (Polylon). The crystal clear Pacific polyester was wonderful and had a natural gut like feeling but that lasted only a couple of hours, it then "died" and became very dull to play with. Polylon was a long lasting poly. What Luxilon introduced is the coating technology allowing the snap-back of the strings that made them so popular up to today. The Original Big Banger is still one of the best bangs for your buck as it lasts almost forever (only 15 G Kevlar lasts longer). Too bad Luxilon does not offer this string in 17 G or 18 G... Then again if the Original version were available in thinner gauges, the Alu Power strings might not sell at all...
Thanks for sharing this info I appreciate it!! It’s very useful 🎾🎾
I play with 345gr (with string , rubbers, overgrip) & dont need to worry about stability. It’s a 305 overspecced to 310 and leather grip…
What’s the racquet?
Your point at 1:19, about how any unstrung racquet weight over 310g is a matter of preference, suggests that, after overgrip and strings, the weight will be about 330g, and that's the top weight most amateurs should need. From personal experience as an advanced amateur, I've experienced this for myself, even as I know many a good player who play weights into the 340s.
Yes you are right! Thanks for watching 🎾🎾
Good vid Alex you must hear some crazy stuff working in a tennis store I can only imagine the patience needed 😂🤣 happy new year to you and your family..See you next year..
Oh yes I need a lot of patience! Happy new year to you too!!🎉
Not really a myth but a joke that went around tennis teaching conferences for many years, I don't know who started it, "A guy walks into the Pro shop at his club, and says to the clerk, I want to return this racquet, there's NO backhand in it" haha 😂😂 thanks Coach Alex 🙏 💯 Great video!!!!
Ahah that’s a good one😂👌🏻
@@AlexTennisChannel 😀🙏 Thanks
what in your opinion is the user-friendliest 98?
While it is true that all tennis gear companies have items worth having . We should not be limited to anyone brand and yet we should hold ones primary brand accountable for what they do produce . Yet , what is most important is the attitude in which a company and its reps give to consumers in regards to their products . For instance for me , while not a Babolat person ; I can appreciate the quality of performance from their newer pure strike 97 . It is for a very special singles player in my opinion , but the attitude of the u.s rep and lack of message return from corporate in France is disgraceful along with even my primary current brand . What is worse is the silent treatment . So how a brand treats consumers and through reviewers matter most and loyalty goes both ways . The worst thing for a brand is for the consumer to go silent and abandon the brand in their tiredness with the effort .
I 100% agree with you! Thanks for watching 🎾🎾
Honestly I think a brand should be judged on the product they produce how they treat reviewers doesn’t bother me at all, how they treat customers sure but there’s many brands we buy daily in general life that are ran by bad people but there’s nothing we can do 🤷🏻♂.. So I use the same principle in Tennis and base my opinion on my personal experience and if I’m happy with the product not on someone else’s experience..
@HardCandy-d9q Most of those people you do not have personal contact with . When it is made personal then your views may change . A consumer in tennis is also a participant . You choose with your wallet and messages. If no one cares to listen and act then you know where they stand . You then can act accordingly . The power is in your hands .
@@derekpappas1556 yeah fair enough but as I said irl I won’t fight with someone because my friend is fighting with someone if that person has done nothing to me I base my opinions on my experience I don’t fight others battles unless they’re my family and when it comes to being a consumer I base my opinions on the product plus all the people you look up to or are celebrities or influencers aren’t the same online as they are irl not all but most play a character I’ve met enough celebrities or influencers irl to have this opinion some feel entitled and have an inflated ego while some are nice people so it depends…I can agree though that it’s your money and vote with your wallet and if a company goes against what you believe then sure..Anyways have a good new year and enjoy your tennis..
I have heard all of that, but it never met the requirements of being a myth. I could tell some stories about a couple of points that would make you question common sense.
@@sebastiandomagala9233 Oh yes that’s for sure! Sometime it’s hard to believe what people say about gear😂
@@AlexTennisChannel Those opinions are not wide spread enough to be called a myth. And I have learned to be careful with "as heavy as possible". It's not only about handling the weight, it's also about getting some feel out of it. If the racquet is heavy, powerful and quite muted (yes, I am looking at you, Ezone 100!) you only feel what's happening of you leave it as light as it is. I once played with a leaded up Ezone 100 from a clubmate. Awesome power, but no feel at all. Really none at all, I could barely tell if I hit the ball.
Zero spin. It is very comfortable though.
Yes exactly!
Is ‘Head Synthetic Gut PPS’ a multifilament as indicated on their packaging?!
No its a synthetic gut because it has a nut in the middle!
Arm lssues...wilson clash.. is there any alternative ( except völkl )
Prokennex could be great! Never tried any of their racquets but I’ve heard many good things about them!
It used to be my string of choice when I was a kid. It made me learn to produce topspin by myself, because it doesn’t spin that much compared to a velocity mlt for example.
Yes that’s the only issue!
Hi Coach Alex 🙋♂️ thanks for this great video, I really like Sensation, it's been popular for many years, you missed my comment on your last video 😲🤨 haha (I forgive you) 😂
I just saw it!! It was in the «bad comment » section but I don’t know why😂 Thanks for watching 🎾🎾
@AlexTennisChannel IDK either 🤷♂️ haha my comments are always the greatest! 😂
Yes for real!!
@@AlexTennisChannel 💯🙏
did you use 1.30 gauge.. I am using 1.25 in black colour on my ezone 98. I will probably remake it on 98 tour and go to 1.30 gauge becouse of tension maintance . 1.25 should have more spin potencial an energy return. however , heavier racquet shoud reduce that to the same withouot loosing tension maintance. Try out 1.25 version
Yes I’ve tried the 1.30 but I can try the 1.25 for sure!
@AlexTennisChannel If you want to. I would apricciate comparison about both gauges. I'm thinking to switch on 1.30 maybe..or 1.30 on cross only
Ok perfect!
What about the radical mp?
Its weird because I feel like it offers so much more control compared to other racquets with those specs. The low swing weight makes the racquets not that powerful even compared to the pro!
Everytime 😂
I'm a bwehhaaa player 😂😂 gravity pro
@@nesan_kaikolar that’s a great choice!
thanks! i use a v9 and its very practical
@@alexandra-s123 Nice!!
Thanks Coach Alex for this video! some great racquets 🎾 forsure!! I feel that the Head Radical MP or Pro could be in a category of all around general performance! What do you think? I wonder how much longer 98 sq.in will really be sold to the public, I never thought 95's would go away 🤷♂️ there were still so many even 15 years ago. I don't know, I understand way tho, thanks again 💪💥👍💯
Hopefully not because 98in are the best in my opinion! Yes I agree for the radical and I can’t wait to try the new one!!

@@gregg2086 thanks a lot I appreciate it!🎾🎾
Hi. I m still using a vcore 98, and liked a lot a percept 100 that I quickly tested. My question : how would you compare the percept 100d to the vcore 98 ? Pro and cons ? Thx a lot.
The Percept has more feel but less spin and can generate less due to the beam! So two greats racquet just got to choose the right one!!
Would you say the percept 100 is nearer from the vcore 98 than the percept 100 D and would be a better choice ?
Yes! I personally really like the Percept 100d too!
Powerful players don´t need power racquets. It´s those players without long and smooth swing paths that need more help from the racquet. The list is also very short. E.g. the power section could have seen the Ezone as well. Not because it offers the single most power, but because it is versatile like no other. And the difference between point and shoot like Pro Staff versus classic control in the Blade should be explained to your audience. So three and a half minutes is a little short to give a full overview of all racquet types.
@@sebastiandomagala9233 yes I could do a longer version but I wanted to keep it short for this one. Thanks for watching 🎾🎾
Thanks Coach Alex!! Control rackets for me is the Yonex Percept 100 and the Wilson Clash 98 V2. My power racket is the Ezone 98 but not always easy to control that extra power!!
Nice that’s a great choice!
I went for the V8 16/19 Roland Garros limited Edition for £115 👌 V9 would have cost over £200 🤔 no brainer
Nice!!
Thank you for the review ! I was quite good at tennis but I stopped when I was 20... Now I am starting again after 40 years... I am looking for an all round well balanced raquette. I am 6' 2" and 80kg. I think at the beginning I will look like a beginner....🤦♂ but if after a while if I start to play just a bit decently I would like a raquette that is not too difficult but can also allow to have some fun and relatively good shots. My only doubt is that stiffness is 69 Ra maybe a bit too rigid for my low level and no longer young age....? There is a special deal on Decathon to buy this model at 120EUR vs 250EUR !! What do you think?
@@adedomini no I think it’s going to be ok if you string it with a confortable string! I think it’s a great deal and specially for this racquet!
@@AlexTennisChannel Thank you very much for your reply !! I was surprised as this is supposed to be a well balanced raquette also for intermediate but stiffness at 69 Rab seems higher than other raquettes for advanced players. I guess that the racket will be already tuned with some string but I imagine should be a confortable string. (Otherwise I can always change). Note that must be the 2022 model that is 285gr (and not the 2024 model that is only 270gr). Still looks like a good deal I hope.
Exactly you have to be careful because they changed the name for the 2024 model! You’re welcome!!👌🏻
@@AlexTennisChannel The special offer (€120 vs €250) is for the older 2022 Speed Team model that you tested.
Yes so its perfect!
Please review v3 ❤
Yes for sure!
