Spoiler ahead: Being a "Flash Adapter" is explicitly described as a neurological divergence that prevents sustaining high Unleashed Combat Power (UCP) but enables rapid UCP spikes. Much like real-world neurodivergences, it's disabling and frustrating if you play by the common ruleset, but can be incredibly game-changing once you understand what's actually happening and learn how to use it right. My autism, ADHD, and dyslexia are not limited to solely restrictive features. There are features in them that are incredibly helpful in one way or another.

Only 4 of the male characters joined because of mina (MC included) meanwhile many other characters joined for the same reason anyone wouldn't join. Simply to kill kaiju and defend their nation but i will agree the story definitely isn't about the kaiju. Half if not most of the entire kaiju genre isn't about the kaiju period, it's about the humans or a balance between both parties. Very glad you enjoyed vol 2, the other volumes get more intense. A shame a new kaiju no.8 fan like yourself has a better understanding of what the story is about than the fans who just want the MC and nothing else.
