Trapped in a Snowstorm! Our Tent Destroyed at 6500ft!
In this intense adventure, we set out to camp in the snowy mountains at 2000ft elevation, but Mother Nature had other plans. Just as we got settled, a sudden snowstorm hit, bringing over 100 km/h winds that quickly destroyed our tent. With no choice but to evacuate, we found ourselves battling fierce winds and blinding snow as we navigated down the mountain, determined to make it to safety. Join us on this grueling journey as we fight against the elements, find a way off the mountain, and eventually secure a camp in a safer valley below. This was a survival challenge we won't soon forget!

How good, you've got 'TheUrbanChallenge' tee. I did that back in school too. Good video.
Thank you, very helpful :)
That was very cool Ryan, what a spot. I reckon there'd be a trout or two in there. The colours behind you around 21.15 in, wow !
So where you off to next weekend? Antarctica ? 😁 That was unreal. Some great advice in this vid and sometimes you can learn so much when things go wrong. You two were well prepared and it payed off. Loved this episode. Thanks Ryan. 👍🍺
Thanks for another interesting video. Glad you guys survived!
Looks like a place I'm definitely going to have to take my 4wd. Cheers
Thanks for watching! its an awesome place, certainly worth visiting.
nice
Thanks for watching!
Such a cool place, visited on the weekend. The tour of the refinery ruins is a must 👍
Thanks for watching, im yet to do the ruins tour. Thanks for the info
You live and learn ,good to see you're both safe and well 👍👍👍
Thanks Carlo, we certainly do mate, hope you enjoyed.
That was "intents"
It certainly was! Thanks for watching!
Glad you are both safe. One tip used in northern Europe : always tie the tent to your backpack with a guyline when pitching it up. It won't fly away.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the info, we will give it a go next time!
Yeah wow , that was an expensive weekend those tents aren’t cheap but glad your both ok and put that one down to experience and im sure we’ll see you down there again. Definitely need a satellite communicater these days. Thanks for sharing your experience
Thanks Shad, yeah it was an expensive weekend but the main thing is we are safe and we learnt from the experience, Completely agree with the communicator, that's why I made sure to say something about it. Thanks for watching mate.
Crazy stuff boys I bet the SOS button was close to being used Glad you’re both ok 👍
Thanks Steve, there was a point where we had thought about it, If I was solo I likely would have.
Glad to know you're both ok. Sometimes even the best planned adventures don't go as expected. Its good you made the smart decision retreat to safety. Awesome video as always Ryan 😉
Thanks for watching David, exactly right mate they don't always go to plan. we certainly learnt from this experience that's for sure.
Didn't touch on the temps too much but would have come down to about -5 to -7 with wind chill (forecasted -4 in guthega itself, with a feels like temp of -8). I reckon feels like temps up on the ridge would have been close to -10. By far the coldest I've ever felt. Still looking forward to next time though!
We will certainly give it a go again next year
Wow that's crazy, glad you guys are safe and had a beacon with you. But that would have been very scary. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Jess, it was an experience to say the least, I wouldn't have even attempted this without a beacon or some sort of satellite communicator, main thing is we got down okay and learnt from it.
@@nextleveladventuresau yeh that's it, safety was number one and you guys got out safe and sound ☺️ thanks again for sharing!
Great video Ryan and Daniel 👍Sounds like it was a bit of a learning curve for you guys. The wind was howling and that tent wouldn’t have been cheap either. Good advice on the in reach gps. Look forward to the next adventure mate 👍
Thanks Archie mate, it was blowing a gale that's for sure, way worse than forecasted, Thanks for watching mate.
hey mate what's the pressure gauge you are using
@@GlennBurbridge hey mate. It’s a maxtrax indeflate. Awesome gauge, you can inflate tyres from them also. www.anacondastores.com/4wd-caravan/recovery/tyre-deflators/maxtrax-indeflate/90224744?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADsxLexNImeq8DIhlzR_ZcJ6kQubW&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZKejp7EiAMVttkWBR28_TltEAQYASABEgLcg_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. Hopefully it is still performing as expected. I've had the 20A and now have the 40A and I can't fault them. :-) Mike
Thanks for watching mate. So far so good jake still has it in the car and it’s going well.
Road noise, not good 😮
Thankyou for taking us on this adventure
@@dorothycutler5539 thank you for watching!!
Deep in yowie country guy's, had my first incounter in the blue mountains.
Thanks for watching mate, we are yet to have any sort of experience like that although have head similar info to yours on the blue mountains plenty of times.
Awesome video showing the stunning greater Blue Mountains region. Subbed.
@@WollemiAdventures thank you!!! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and glad you enjoyed
Nice vid Ryan. Very relaxing. I’m definitely getting a pair of those camp slippers. 👍🍺
Thanks Darren mate appreciate you taking the time to watch
Great video - loved it. May I ask where abouts is this spot in Oberon. Looking for places to take the family .
Thanks for watching mate, its out the back in one of the state forests, this spot was pretty remote I am not sure exactly the name of the forest.
👍🏼🇦🇺👍🏼🇦🇺👍🏼🇦🇺👍🏼
Hi Ryan, top video. Ive got a 2014 same colour. Regarding 33s did u have to do anything to gearing or torque converter to account for bigger lever of 33s? Bet they look awesome.
Hi mate thanks for watching. I’m due to make another one of these as I’ve changed a bit on the inside of the car. I’ve changed nothing after putting them on mate just the casters had to be moved forward when the tires went on. I have a throttle controller and that’s all. Thanks Ryan
I did that walk in May24 and found the Carlons creek section very overgrown and confused, lots of pigs unfortunately but still very beautiful, nice to see you enjoying the Dogs
Yes a lot of pig activity was very visible, the track was very overgrown and we did lose it many times and ended up just following along the creek bed
@@nextleveladventuresau if you’re keen for more exploration in that area, check out the walk down Ironmunger to the junction of the Coxs and Breakfast creek Different kind of trail but still very beautiful
Regrettably, this area is not pristine - Breakfast creek itself, and most of the terrain within ten kilometres or more, is completely choked with every sort of non-native invasive species of flora one can imagine.
This may be so, it’s still a very nice place.
By your logic you are also an invasive species . There was never a treaty signed by the first nations people.
Great video Ryan, so easy to loose your footing in that terrain. I used to bush walk in the blue mountains nearly every second weekend when I was in my 20’s such an amazing place. Over the Christmas holidays I’ll be going to the cox river for a camp with my brother so that’ll bring back some memories. Look forward to the next one guys 👍👍
Thanks for watching Archie. It was very loose and slippery going down that river bed, it was great fun though and happy to have ticked it off the bucket list
Nice one mate , love it down there 👍👍🤠. Great video
Thanks shad mate glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Another great hike, didn't look too cold over night? nice one guys👍👍
Thanks, got down to about 4. I was using a quilt and and early morning could feel some fresh draughts from moving around. Warmed up quickly though.
Thanks Carlo mate. We have been getting back into the hiking lately. It wasn’t too cold actually about 3-4 degrees. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Nice one Ryan. Back to basics. Cheers Steve
Thanks muddy appreciate you watching
Top video Ryan and the team Really enjoyed this one 👍
Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for taking the time to watch.
Thanks Ryan for putting together another great episode. Your product just keeps improving mate. What awning is your Dad using as it appears to give excellent coverage. Cheers mate. 🍺
@@darrenc4096 thanks Darren mate appreciate the kind words. It’s an oztent foxwing
Another good video.
Hey Ryan I just bought a 2020 Pajero, Sydney, and want to put a set of rubber all around like yours. What wheels are they and any more detail on the caster set up? Also are the tyres noisy on the tar? Cheers
Hey mate. They are Goodyear wrangler MT 285/70/17. From what I know when they were put on the front casters were moved all the way forward to fit them on. They were not noisy when I put them on but they do get a bit loud as the tread wears down
Nice one guys , so many spots up there hey. Cheers shad 👍
@@shaddonaghue thanks for watching shad. Appreciate you taking the time to watch
Amazing video, thankyou 😊
Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
Hey man, really cool video, what is the exact location of this track? Cheers
Hi mate. Don’t remember the exact location it’s near Sofala in nsw
Nice one Ryan. Looks like a cool spot. Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve mate appreciate you taking the time to watch
Great episode. Cool location. Lovely soft camping area. Some very camera shy people in the mix
Thanks for taking the time to watch mate. Yes the others can be camera shy but they enjoy it.
Nice one Ryan, plenty of firewood out there mate. Drone footage was excellent and the food made me hungry haha. 👍👍
Thanks for taking the time to watch Archie mate. Im glad you enjoyed it.
Great video thanks
Thank you for taking the time to watch and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Fantastic video Ryan, very polished production. Any chance you could run through the filming equipment used in a future video?
Thanks Craig, Im glad you enjoyed it. I would be happy to do a video explaining the film gear used. I'll add it to the list.
good one guys👍👍👍
Thanks Carlo. Glad you enjoyed and appreciate you watching.
Nice one as usual Ryan & the gang See you again in the next one 👍
Thanks Steve mate, appreciate you watching.
Does anyone here knows what the maximum roof load rating of 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is when it is idle? It says 80kg in the manual. I guess this is the dynamic roof load rating.
The 80kg limit is dynamic yes. I would recommend trying to contact Mitsubishi in regards to the static rating. I am unsure
Wot maps are you using mate cheers gary
Hi mate. Thanks for watching! Just google maps for this one
