Bernie Kosar's Bad Day
Let's take a close look at the September 8, 1984 Miami at Michigan game.

Don’t forget Jim McMahon in the 1980 Holiday Bowl.
Not a good spot either lmao
For real he’s my history teacher now
Lol that's crazy
I was there!
Lol - holy cow, I recognize your name from the game!
So the camera was a potato in 1984
Not the camera so much as VCR recording technology. You also have to realize that this is a lower generation VHS copy; the original recording probably looks better than this.
Remember KEITH JACKSON ❤
Ashamed his career ended so abruptly he was by far the best running back since Jim Brown
He is awesome! He's a teacher now btw
No runners down
Looks like the runner's knees were down before the ball popped out, so no fumble.
Glen Kozlowski. 🐻⬇️
Almost 40yrs ago......40 years before that, we were still in WW2
If you look at the block happening right beside the RB, that’s illegal use of hands to the face nowadays.
I've noticed a number of missed calls like that in the 1984 games I've watched so far - and I haven't even watched that many, lol. The quality of officiating has improved a lot over the years.
Who blocked it?
The wind held it up. It wasn't blocked.
That college team had more clout than the Dolphins back in the day.
I believe it. They looked incredible in the Kickoff Classic.
The year that began the downfall of football
Overdramactic much, if it is in a downfall, it is because of the SC case against OU letting NIL run wild
BYU was QB U late 70's and for 10 years after. All those guys went pro.
Great video man
Absolutely love the videos. When watching old college football, I saw that CFA college football logo when they showed the score. They never mentioned the ncaa. They just said CFA and showed it when they showed the score. Can you go into detail on the CFA? Love the videos, hope you like my summer recaps of Action PC sports using the fake news broadcasts.
Them chop blocks were crazy
Absolutely. They were technically illegal, but I guess the refs didn't see them on this play?
That was a fight ?
They're mad 'cause that one guy married all their sisters!
I was at that game, only thing good was Notre dame won and I wasn’t shot in the ghetto
>Eleven YAAD LAANE
I love fm and those are a lot of good ideas. I would avoid involving the press I hate them in FM 😂 but I like the limits on play calling. I would love to see an fm style game for American football but think it couldn’t happen unless SI actually took the reigns on it
Bo knows etc......
I gotta root for my Buckeyes! Shocked they went 6-8 honestly!
Yeah - I'm shocked as well, actually. I thought they'd breeze through that league. I'm pretty sure they'll make it up eventually, though. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Sure miss Keith Jackson.
That was a perfect pass
Couldnt watch the video. That '95 game was my first ND game and I'm still a bit traumatized.
That's a pretty crazy game for your first one! My first live college football game was the BYU - Miami game in 1990...
That little feint to the left. It's the little things that separate the great.
Nothing like tag team woke nfl where you get flagged, fined and ejected. Those were the good days of football.
Ahhh, yes, that Stratton-Lincoln hit. Talked about over every meal, still today…😂
That's got to be one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. Just brutal.
Jimmy MacAttack. Love it!!
When football was played outside in Minnesota real football arena's kill football
Y.A. Tittle to R.C. Owens looks different in this video.
Several years ago, I got interested in the 1946 season after reading about the Army and Notre Dame teams that season. So many greats that year besides on those two teams. Charlie Conerly, Bobby Layne, Charley Trippi , Tom Landry, and then there's Herman Wedemyer the "Flyin' Hawaiian" who later a regular of Hawaii Five-0, NC's Charlie Choo-Choo Justice. Anyway should be a fun project for you.
Justice is leading the league in (non-kicker) scoring, by the way. Yeah, it's going to be fun to go through it slowly! There's a lot of interesting stuff to find.
I saw this live on TV as a kid and my dad went nuts!
Captain America
Sometimes to get a lot of comments, they say something that will be contested. Like this comment. The original Hail Mary.
1984 SC & ND
He threw that ball 64 yards in the air. That's crazy.
I absolutely agree. It's one of the most ridiculous plays I've ever seen.
❤❤❤JESUS BLESS❤❤❤
I just threw it up and said a hail mary
Fran Tarkenson's father passed away during this game!!!
How sad
