I feel like the national audience is going to root for the underdog Beavers/Pac 12 conference which is being destroyed/dismantled by Phil Knight/NIKE NIL money. Re: Spring games: Speaking of the quacks, who better to make a big deal of watching 2 hours of backups and non-starters run around and sort of make plays and sort of tackle. I’ve been to many OSU spring games and within minutes thinking oh yeah this is really all the team does. It’s silly for an athletic dept to put resources into hyping that. But quacks love to be quacks and dress up like quacks just to be around one another and dream.

JP’s son is a genius for seeing a quack in the MLB logo…. …….annnnnnnd…….. I hope to never, EVER, ….EEVVERRRR…. remember that from this point forward. 😊

Amen, its not the leaving, its the way it was done. Its the abandoning the players, its the knife in the back of the program (and all OSU sports), its the media statements and the way they were delivered, its the jumping ship at the first offer and where he went. This is what were pissed at. Be a man, be up front and honest. If nothing else the players deserved so much better.

If the Beavs want to revive this program, there are 3 candidates I would go with; Already mentioned; Jeff Tedford, Dan Hawkins the lowest percentage guy (but I would love it) would be Dennis Erickson! Bray and all of these other younger candidates, don't make any sense for this job. The job is such a unique situation right now. The person coming in, needs to be an experienced builder! BTW, Lindgren and Coach M are gone already! Go Beavs!

I feel ya! Good riddance to JS. Things kinda tipped me off last season with the handling of the Chance Nolan transfer. He lied to the media the entire time, until Chance was eventually transferring, then he had to tell the truth. The guy is a weasel! Anyway, moving forward, we need a great "builder" to come in because this is going to be a trainwreck! The portal will be filled with Beaver players! A guy like; Jeff Tedford or Dan Hawkins come to mind right away. Tedford is a miracle worker at building up programs. If you're not familiar with his career, please go look it up. He is also a former NW guy. Hawkins is a great coach that made mistakes in Boulder (and admitted it). Anyways, we fucking better not bring in a guy like Brennan or some young unproven guy. They will get trampled in this job! Guys, Smith was not that great. The main 2 coaches that helped elevate him were; Trent Bray and Coach M (2 of the most important asst. coaches on any staff). Smith failed to develop any QBs in his 6 years. He also has a losing record. The BIG10 schools will not put up with his crazy gambles and poor playcalling that essentially lose games! We can do better! Go Beavs!

Also to add, the morning before the news broke that Oregon and Washington joined the B1G, I commented on an Oregon channel that I would rather be king of the future PAC-12 than just another team in the B1G. I agree that the path for Oregon winning a NC would have been easier had the PAC-12 stayed together. I think it came down to the perception that we would lose a lot of top recruits to schools like USC had we stayed.

As an Oregon fan, I wanted that Apple TV deal. I am really upset that we abandoned Oregon St. and Washington St. I know like 95% of the fanbase disagrees with me and is content going to the Big 10 but it feels wrong..

The insane travel costs, shrinking the fan bases is stupid. Yet, they keep doing it because the networks are paying them to do it. It's just gross. I wanted us to stay together. It feels weird going to the B1G but at the same time it also feels like we had no choice. I wish we could have just invited San Diego St. and another team to fill the void of USC and UCLA leaving. College football as we knew it died when Notre Dame got its own media deal separate from the rest of the NCAA. This event forced all the other conferences to make their own media deals. After that, it was all about the money. Also, I think another reason why Oregon left is cos USC was using the fact that they were in the "stronger" conference against us on the recruiting trail. And lo and behold a 4 star committed to USC just flipped to Oregon yesterday..

Streaming is going to be a yuge gamble, & the odds do not favor its success ... yet, at this time. Maybe you get lucky & there's a paradigm shift - but it's a long shot until somebody does it successfully. It appears that the Pac12 has been backed into a corner and this is its only desperate choice to try and save the conference. Will all 10 schools find it to be an acceptable risk, when the Big12 is sitting out there with willing, open arms, for basically the same money & guaranteed traditional, proven exposure ? The NFL Thursday night football on Amazon has not been what anybody would term, a success. It's still under development. It's still a work in progress - like total electric cars. You are still better off with a hybrid.

These are obviously either delayed releases or re-releases (47 days before the season started), but the discussions are still fairly relevant at this time. It's interesting as a retrospective in that some things have been overtaken by events - UC-BOR decision, for example. What has changed is Oregon State and Washington State have gotten closer examination and it appears that the Big12 wants them both, along with the lower Corner-4. Of course the Big12 would take Oregon and Washington too, but the more realistic expectation is Oregon State, Washington State, Arizona, and maybe Colorado (now that Deion Sanders is on board to turn CU around). Utah & Arizona St could come too, but they don't sound like they would be first to jump. But if Oregon State and Washington State hold back like Utah & AzSt, that's how you wind up in the MW unnecessarily - only because your place gets taken by someone else - like Oregon & Washington...
