Fun Fact: In modern Turkish “evrim” means “evolution” however the root word originally means dragon. In Turkish Mythology the rotation of the Earth is believed to be caused by dragons that fly in the sky. The root word “ewür” means to spin and when referring to a person is called “ev(i)ren” (literal translation: the one who spins), meaning dragon. Similarly the word “evren” also means universe 🧜♀️ Yıldız simply means “star”.
