Definitely my favorite of yours so far (or any Christian romance I've ever read!!!) loved it.

Ms. St. James always has unique meet up stories. She kept me on my toes and had me guessing, then cheering at the direction she went with it. The writing, storyline and narration are all amazing. The choice in narrators was over-the-top. I admire how her characters choose to deal with issues than allow an opportunity for it to fester and blow up. The storyline took a very unexpected turn at the end and made me want to listen to it all in one sitting.

Edit: I just started the next book and I can already tell it's addressing exactly what I felt was missing! I'm so glad I decided to keep going one more. I love the concept of these books and you really have a talent for clean but still SO sweet it doesn't feel bland or lacking!... BUUT so far in this series it feels like it's missing depth. -Even for first world problems... They feel...small, and they are delt with vary quickly with basically no complications at all. -Both times I feel like I know nothing about the guy except he's rich (+kind&hot) and loves her Or the girl except she is afraid and a good artist. Both people should have personality and even better faults. What do they actually like about eachother. It seems like they're in love and fully committed (especially the guys) from basically the very first time they lay eyes on each other, For no reason. If there's another series you wrote that focuses more on depth please let me know. And if not, perhaps you'd consider starting one?

One thing which I’ve never seen acknowledged is that Ms. St. James put in an admirable amount of research into every book she writes, in this case what goes into making a theatre production and all that is involved in it, including the skill sets, training and careers. It was disconcerting for me to hear the same voice of her hateful mother and the narration of her own internal monologue. It was upsetting how her mother justified wanting to sell her own daughter, which is what she was asking her to do by accepting a pay-off. I don’t come from a family where name-calling is done and it was painful for me to experience. Her parents made their own financial decisions - one of which is their own business model and lack of desire to try to make more money. I questioned Bailey dating two jealous men…you can be sure that violent behaviour will be turned on you one day as she already experienced. However, Ryan proved he was a violent protective man, jealous for her, not of her. I had expected legal recourse from him, to be honest. Despite this, it was a difficult read.

“No never mind. Yes mind.” Ms. St. James is so good with dialogue. Always such good, original storylines and meet-cutes. I love the characters and even the side characters.

When I read about Daniel in the last book I wondered if they might get together. I was delighted when I realized it was true. I love the little details that Ms. St. James adds that make the story more real. This is a delightful slow-burn romance that delves into important matters of the heart: guilt, shame, forgiveness - not dwelling on it but rather on how one deals with it. I admire people who deal with conflicts directly. The risk to the heart is great, but the reward is greater. There’s nothing wrong with moving quickly when you know each other, know what you want and marry within the context of family. This is the way it was done in the Jewish culture in the Bible. The couple knew each other’s expectations and everyone was happy for them. And when they finally got together, I was happy for them too. It feels like Ms. St. James is recounting the story of a real couple and not fictional characters.

This was a unique and creative slow burn romance. It wasn’t my favourite of the series as it felt at times like he had claimed her but yet would not commit to her. He didn’t want anyone else to date her but would not even offer her any promises or statement of intent. Normally I would recommend to any person that they move on from anyone who does anything less than show signs of pursuing (think of Solomon and the Shulamite woman, Joseph with Mary, Jacob and Rachel…), but he redeemed himself by recognizing his assumption, stating his heart plainly, and then moving forward with purpose without any signs of dragging. Way to go, Lane! As always, excellent writing, character development and narrating. ❤

I love how Brooke St. James identified and captures emotions you don’t even know that you feel. I admire that while the characters don’t necessarily make decisions I might have done, their heart is to do right and be the person God wants them to be. The narrator, as always, is fabulous and makes the reading even better. I love the quirky, romantic humour that adds to the romance.

Very romantic. I tell my daughters to think of three people they respect right now - including their parents - whom they can consult before they make any major life decision - because when the time comes the heart is deceitful and they will unknowingly choose people whom they know will agree with their decisions. Marriage is one of those decisions. I feel for her parents.

This is perhaps my favourite of the series. Happily ever after pulled on my heart strings unlike it has in a very long time. Nico is quite the character and the twist of him (spoiler alert) being a non-Believer and converting was heart-warming. The entire story delves so much into human condition like no other. Way to go with another winner, Ms. Brooks!

This has to be one of my favourite books. Of Ms. St. James and ever. Her ability to convey feelings and go deep is painfully, wonderfully incredible. She has such unique storylines. I relate to Charlotte’s guilt over her unintentional sin. Emotional attachments are long-lasting and seem so much worse than other sins as a result. What we fail to realize is that we have unintentionally put our sin above the price of suffering Jesus endured for us on the cross. I’m glad she told someone and was able to walk in freedom. I love the decisiveness of the characters in each book. When you are mature and know what you want and have mutual expectations, there is room for expediency in proposing. On a side note, I think Mia crossed a line in telling Charlotte’s truths. She knew what that pinch meant…just my opinion.

What a fabulous narrator. Her tone and timbre are perfect for every character. I love the story. I do wish, however, we find out what happens to a certain nefarious so-and-so whose activities could have turned out oh-so-much worse than they did. I hope there is an update in the next book! Thank you for sharing your writing talent, Ms. St. James.

I have enjoyed all of Brooke St. James books so far. This book surprised me by the candour of the parents and respect of the son to receive a difficult word. The love of a family to step in and help each other and the single-minded determination of a man to pursue to woman who caught his heart is compelling. I admire the emotional wholeness it takes for each character to know their own hearts, take chances and embrace each other for the treasures they know the other is. The lack of deceit and courage to respond and make difficult choices decisively is admirable to read about.

This was a lovely story involving a grandparent who loves her grandchildren enough to take bold steps and invest financially to see them be happy in their married lives. It also shows a less-than-traditional parenting arrangement, a man willing to take risks and show his heart quickly and a woman courageous enough to take chances and embrace love.

Can't wait for the Audiobook versions of Camp Eden Books 2,3,4

Their love is admirable. The way ryan stood by her during her downtimes, refusing to leave her. He is like her rock and he can't do without her. They are so in love and attached to each other. I wouldn't mind a love like theirs. I think out of all the characters brooke wrote, their love is the strongest and we can actually see how much they love, care and depend on each other. 🤍💕

I really like that you didn’t have to put so many explicits parts like others books. It’s hard on teens that like to read. But still the book was kept very entertaining and in good taste.
