Yap. I tried similar design. The 90 degree at the bottom does not let much feed through. So no. Likely a slant feeder vs vertical helps. I am going to try.

I have a bit of experience with briars and vines, may I suggest for future attempts, long sleeve shirt and long pants. A lick or two with file on that chain saw chain wouldn't heart anything either.

Reminds me of my dad ......went to the timber cut trees and only took the large chunks.... Left all the 2,3,4 and 5 inch branches to rot ! Then go home and spend days making the large chunks into small chunks........when all he would have had to do is cut the small stuff up in the first place ! The bigger question is.....why split the wood in the first place ???? Burned wood now for 30 years....never split a single chunk ! But.....I do cheat a bit..... I have a large door on my stove.... 3 foot by 3 foot. I suppose you have a small cook stove !

You would have to angle the feeding section downward or little to no feed will reach any of the holes.

Any advice for muscadine that's overrunning my yard? It's grown from dropped seeds and has now sprung up in a few places and starting to smother the other plants and trees. I plan to have ONE muscadine vine that I'll manage but get rid of the rest. Tearing out the criss-cross of roots is a nightmare.

A stump this big, it makes sense to stump burn under it by digging a small cave under a root. Then light some charcoal underneath the stump.

You can use a chainsaw to cut to the center and use clay and steel pipe to create the bottom funnel.

After watching this video, I'm glad mine isn't nearly as bad off as this one was. I bought the property last June. It has a lot of fruit trees that haven't been properly managed the last few years before I bought the place. By the time my yard tools got here, it was a bit too late to start pruning things. It had fruit last year, but a lot of it was very hard to get to. I started pruning it today before it got dark outside. I found an abandoned birds nest, but haven't got to trimming that part out yet. I'll probably finish pruning it tomorrow. Mine wasn't bad enough to damage the trellis, but it has a lot of growth that seems to be choking itself and didn't travel very far down the trellis either. It seems to have mostly grew into a big blob not far from the trunk with a few small leaders that went maybe halfway down the trellis. I trained a few of those small leaders out towards the other side and spread them about 1ft apart hoping that helps it spread out a bit more. I do have a pear tree in the yard that looks about as densely overgrown as your muscadines were though. Not looking forward to that.

You did great 👍, you have a nice piece of property and a really nice tractor. I have equivalent splitter County Line, Keep your self warm, and stay safe.

Well done on the completion of your project. The type of work you were doing with your chainsaw is challenging and tricky. I encourage you to wear the proper PPE when running your chainsaw. my nephew had a rooster that kept spurring him...told kid get large stick...go stand in the yard...when i yell NOW turn and hit a home run...rooster came strutting out ..spotted nephew..then ran..jumped up to spur kid...Now...kid hit rooster...never got spurred again cuz all the other birds saw what happened..we had fried chicken that night....
