It has a good aim assist stat, the most managable recoil pattern, low base zoom for up close gunfights/aggression, one of the best perk pool options and arguably the best scope/reticle in the game. So it meshes with my playstyle perfectly and I got around 24,000 kills with it between both my Beloveds

@@glowiboiThey are different scopes, and they have the same base zoom of 40, but Mercurial can get better overall stats. It's just a feel thing for me. But just reread the reply everything I said is subjective ❤

Its not great for follow up shots if you hit a body shot, and it takes an exotic slot, unless you’re on a titan there are other snipers that are just as good

The feel. My Mercurial Overreach is perfectly rolled and outclasses every single sniper I own in every category but doesn't quite "feel" the same as Adored/Beloved, Cloudstrike, and Praedyth's. Snipers I usually demolish with. I'm not like others who can just be this good after a few months, I've been sniping since the later half of D1 Taken King into D2. You can literally see my progression if I uploaded my videos from 5 years ago. So all in all, to THIS result is nearly a decade. I used to be just like everyone else man.

Also, that's why I get tilted by cronus / xim comments sometimes lol I've been using a sniper in Destiny SINCE 2015. The mechanics are exactly the same, as is Halo Reach which I also played as a kid. It's just pure muscle memory at this point

@@noiraims I can’t blame you for finding those comments annoying. Thank you for the explanation man. I can tell by the gameplay you seem to have perfect muscle memory from all the experience you’ve developed sniping. Sure some shots seem lucky but none of those weren’t earned through hard work. One last question if you don’t mind. I’ve been kind of torn between the two, but do you find more success flicking with the chance of missing or hesitating to shoot and possibly overthinking the shot. I seem to struggle with the latter, but I feel like my muscle memory isn’t quite good enough to do the flicking consistently.

@ No problem! I find more success flicking. Due to the muscle memory I hit them pretty easily, but I only ever think about shots when I'm against extremely high comp, very long ranged maps, or people who know who I am and play strategic against me. Sometimes hesitation works, you use it to work around flinch, jiggle peaks etc. But as for the mid to short range maps? It's all a flow state, comes with time.

Welcome to the dark side lmao There are a ton of tips I could give you but I'd rather explain in an upcoming video. But as for snipers I could say Eye of Sol is great, Beloved, Adored, Mercurial Overreach, Cloudstrike, and Praedyth's Revenge are my personal favorites! As for perks I tend to focus on handling and swap speed. Snapshot is a must have perk for snipers, but I would say snapshot if it can roll.. If it can't then I would do quickdraw with a quick access sling mod, and if you can get both snap and qd on a sniper thats the go to, there's also snap opening shot as well. To name a few
