Mormon Well Road Run
An old video from our early off-roading days.
Las Vegas Jeep Life, a Las Vegas Jeep Club, hosted a winter trail run at Mormon Well Road in December of 2019. Huge turnout! The trail leader, Melinda, was a badass and did an awesome job leading all these Jeepers!
We learned so much through the Las Vegas Jeep clubs, fellow Jeepers and friends, and off-roaders. So grateful for all these great folks!
Keep making the most of the dash!

Review - Using Dehumidifier Bags in our Rooftop Tent

Had posted in the FB The Roof Top Tents Group page on doing some cold weather traveling and bought dehumidifier bags to help with the condensation we experience in our rtt. The bags are convenient in size and have a hanging hook. Here’s our review. Brian & Anna Maria Make the Most of the Dash
Upper Peninsula, Michigan - Lake Perrault, Chassell Strawberry Festival and Keweenaw Bay
มุมมอง 3722 ปีที่แล้ว
Our next dispersed camping spot was Lake Perrault which we found using the iOverlander app. It was a local fishing spot that had about 7 dispersed camping spots - 2 along the lake and 5 within the trees. There was a hiking trail that took you around the lake and a natural beach access point where you could launch a small fishing boat, canoe, or kayak. Being a quiet and peaceful spot, we opted t...

And just like that, 7.5 months after starting our full-time travel adventure, we arrived in Michigan! Brian's home state! We always wanted to explore the Upper Peninsula, and as we crossed the Wisconsin-Michigan border, we were so excited to start! We had noted several dispersed camping spots on our Google My Maps, but unfortunately, these were either already occupied or had become overgrown an...

Noted as one of the most beautiful hikes in Starved Rock State Park, we started our day early to be at the River Trail trailhead by 6:30am when they opened the gates. The approximate 2.5-mile hike to LaSalle Canyon did not disappoint. With views of the Illinois River, sandstone canyon walls, lush greenery, and the cool early morning air made it an experience to remember. As a beautiful and pict...

    is it okay to cut the downed trees, and move them out f the way? Or does the Forestry Service want to do that? The trail is a few hours away, and I would love to drive it. We have cleared trees before, and wouldn't mind working that to have more access.

    • @Petesmotoadventure

      From what I understand it is ok to cut a downed tree. You can not trim trees off the trail. I was out there yesterday and had a tree across the trail was able to drag it out of the way.

      I went a couple weeks ago and it was wet. Not as wet as I thought it would be, but some of the water crossings had some big holes and a muddy bottom. That may cause a few challenges for a stock Jeep. There was one section that we backed out of because the water was getting too deep (hood high on a lifted JK).

      This reply is late in coming, but we would be extremely cautious taking on this trail in a stock Jeep. Just be prepared to adjust your route depending on challenges or conditions you may run across that aren't suitable for a stock Jeep. And make sure to download a trail map before you arrive in case you have to adjust your route. Safe travels!

    • @MaketheMostoftheDash

      No, it is not required. As we understood it, the road past the ranch gate to the overlook is on BLM/NP land. The ranch itself is a fenced property located adjacent to the road. You pass it on your way to the overlook. The gate was open when we arrived, but we made sure to close it when we went through to be respectful and courteous.

    Could you tell me how you have your patches attached to the headliner?

    • @MaketheMostoftheDash
      @MaketheMostoftheDash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used the hook-side of the 2-inch industrial strength heavy-duty stick on Velcro. We cut it out to the size of the patch, then peel off the protective film on the Velcro and stick it on the patch. Then you attach the patch to the fabric headliner. The Velcro comes in a box and found it at Home Depot, but here is the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Mounting-Adhesive-Concrete/dp/B09BNPHCZX/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=3SL1KFU7ZGC2B&keywords=B00006RSP1&qid=1658523378&sprefix=b00006rsp1%2Caps%2C484&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTjFWN1JWNk1TRkNFJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDg4OTY1MTczNlZGT1VIWFFKViZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTQzNjUwM00wQkdJV0tBNEhEWSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl. Do you stay in the same campground for several days? Generally, how late g are you able to stay put at a time?

    • @MaketheMostoftheDash
      @MaketheMostoftheDash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have stayed at many different campgrounds and dispersed camp sites for several days. We have no timeline therefore the length of our stay depends on our budget (if it’s a paid camp site), our social media workload, and how much we are enjoying the site and/or surrounding activities and sights. For example, in Illinois, we stayed at a dispersed site that had bathrooms and electricity (for free) for 9 days while we explored the nearby state parks, trails and waterfalls, and worked on our social media. Saved money, had a great time and stayed at a nice location. Hope this helped answer your questions. We appreciate your watching, subscribing and support! Thanks a million!!!
