The version in Machina II is even better!

Testo ✨ Last chance to make believe in always and all it seems Train wrecks hide underneath your umbrella Accept a frame Destiny and on first name soliloquy Tired symphonies play down on Let me give the world to you, my love Let me give the world to you, my love Let me show what I'm thinking of Let me give the world to you my love And I wouldn't change a thing oh no No, I wouldn't change a thing About the way you are Distance here to speak so far, so far Lovers with dead excuse Blur the line with soul abuse Lonesome hearts just have no use right here The new skin holds us in As the old skin turns us on Flicker-fade but not trade down to end Let me give the world to you, my love Let me give the world to you, my love Times are hard and we're the last in line 'Cause in my grief, I've forgotten what was mine And I wouldn't change a thing No, I wouldn't change a thing About the way you are Distance here to speak so far, so far Let me give the world to you, my love
god damn! if this were released back in the '90s it would have been in the song list for Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Encore for Nintendo Wii
crazy how many demos/ b side songs Billy wrote that would literally be radio hits if they were released. The pumpkins don’t get enough credit
I personally prefer this version. Only real bad thing about it is Rick Rubins production making the song sound like shit.
Machina II version slays this. Cool to have it, tho.

This acoustic part of their vinyl greatest hits is one the best releases they have done
I live in Australia. It was released for free along with their greatest hits album. Bonus! Its really rare.
Perfect!
I will always love this song and i will always connect this song with that girlcon the train headed to SO CA!!
I love this song.
Sadly the recorded versions of this song are not as good as the Hamburg live performance in 1998.
Bellissima.
This is so beautiful. Of course you had great material to work with, but still, great job. So I guess my new hobby is listening to all possible interpretations of Just Like Heaven on TH-cam. Really well done.
have you heard this one th-cam.com/video/aDrudZMcDak/w-d-xo.html
This is a true to life for once in a roll of being ruins in love its takes a balance that i had now to make it blank
Obrigado, estava procurando essa música faz 20 anos...and I wouldn’t change a thing
Love it
perfect and beatiful song
The drums are awful. I’ll stick with the Machina version.
Spot on , maybe cos I'm s drummer but they are all over the place, I was thinking my judgement was clouded by listening to the Machina version first but its not
Smashing Pumpkins b-sides are undoubtably better than Silversun Pickups songs even when they work with Butch Vig🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Nice song of course but I don't see where the "Acoustic" fits when the Bass obviously is electric and we also hear a synth, if I'm not mistaken.
Saludos.
@@faustinocabanillas3921 It was just a remark, not a blame. Anyway thanks for the upload and the reply. :)
sounds like an accordion not a synth
@@countingcrows123 Indeed, it could definitely be an accordion.
A lot of acoustic performances will use an electric bass because it fits better in the mix. Acoustic, horizontal basses are a thing, they just don't really project very well in a band setting. That, plus since electric basses typically aren't distorted anyways, the normal timbre of it fits well even with acoustic guitars. If you watch Korn's MTV Unplugged performance, with Robert Smith, doing a mash up of In Between Days, they're using an acoustic horizontal bass there. You can tell that it's fairly similar to the electric bass sound that they use elsewhere, (although maybe just a little bit more "raw" sounding?) so people tend to just forego an acoustic bass most of the time and just use an acoustic.
If this song does not make you smile, be worried.
If I ever make a sitcom about big city life, this is the intro.
Truth😂
best version, definitely.
Happy Birthday... With my Love. 💜💜💜💜
No i wouldn't change a thing 😍
audible commercial is messing with my 80s newwave vibe
Still my favorite song.
Wonderful song beautiful
This is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard. This is great pop music. Such a shame it was never officially released.
It was officially released, on the deluxe version of Adore that came out 5 years ago. It's the first track on disc 4 or 5
Drums are so bad. M2 version all the way.
An amazing song ruined by fucking Rick Rubin
Billy was a fool not to make this the lead single. He went on to say Mellon collie's singles made a perfect transition from the older Pumpkins sound of Bullet with Butterfly wings to the electronic sound of 1979. Adore could of started with this then descend into the gloominess of the rest of the album. I don't understand how someone can release an "Avant-garde" album, then complain when it doesn't sell and the band falls apart. This song was a lifesaver, but Billy just had to jump the late 90's gothy Manson/NIN bandwagon.
wow, i'm pretty sure rick rubin doesn't know how to produce the pumpkins. the machina 2 version is way more expressive than this.
Better version 🇧🇷
I was excited to hear this song after hearing the story about it being left off the album. I'm glad he left this off, not a fan.
It’s a nice song but Adore was a very dark album. Perfect is in fact a song about breaking up “I promise we’ll be perfect strangers”. The Tale if Dusty and Pistole is the closest thing you have to an upbeat love song, but even that song is full if melancholy.
Back when he was able to just toss gems like this aside for the B-sides. He wrote so much back then it's no wonder he struggles now.
Haha, "struggles"
@@corycastleman6351 not financially. but his band is nothingness.
@@cultfilmfreakreviews listen a bit more and you'll see they still make great music. Oceania, Monuments, and even Shiny are great. Not every band is without its flops, especially a band like this who puts out so much material.
Vous pouvez ajouter Cyr et Atum qui sont très solide. Les gens n'aiment pas le choix de production et les synthés mais les chansons sont bonnes
this song warms the heart like it's christmas time when you were a kid
Love it!!!
This is so beautiful

Machina II is better, way more poignant in that era.
I agree with Billy that this wouldn't have really fit on the record and not as a first single.. but I also don't agree with him that Perfect is avant garde (although the lead into Daphne Descends is sublime).. In the end, I do not think this would have been a big hit. Maybe as a last single, it could have slow burned into something bigger. I compare it to Good Riddance from Green Day. Basically released at the same time (the album) and it didn't initially sell that well until Good Riddance was released as a single. Could argue that song didn't fit on that album either.
Appels and Oranjes? I was always surprised that he didn't release that as a single....
billy didn't want this to be a single because it's too "pop"? perfect is the most "pop" song he ever wrote.
pancakerepairman thank you... so many people here seems to forget this fact ... he didnt include it cause it was too radio friendly, he said it many times
love!
