Day 1 we walk 11.4 miles and ascend about 5000 feet from Fontana Dam to Mollies Ridge Shelter. We compare the FLEXTAIL ZERO PUMP with the Rex-Creations Pad-Pal sleeping pad pump. Both are relatively light options for inflating your sleeping pad. Day 2 we walk from Rock Spring Hut to Hawksbill Summit on the Salamander Trail to catch the sunrise. We then walk south, crossing Skyline Drive to connect with the Cedar Run Trail, passing 2 main waterfalls.
