What made you want to teach math? I’m going to teach English because math is not (nor will it ever be) my subject.
I actually want to teach math because I know a lot of students feel the way you do - that they will never be able to understand or be successful in math! I want to build a math classroom where I can hopefully help students find success and build more confidence around their perception of their math ability 😀 good luck with teaching!!
@@ms.cases.classroom I appreciate you replying. I am struggling with my college math classes so badly that I think I’d do a disservice trying to teach it.
Obviously have not read the book, First Day of school. Most high schools have a curriculum schedule. I am used to doing math review the first week.
For any one starting as a teacher please read the book by Harry and Rosemary Wong, entitled The First Days of Schools.

She does a nice job. Just an aside, she looks like somebodies mother. I could easily see her having 5 children. I think she'd be a good mother.
Thanks for making the video, planning on transitioning from engineering to teaching high school math. I have always enjoyed tutoring my own kids from elementary to high, and tutoring college students in math and physics while in college. Large cut in pay but it is more enjoyable. I am just worried a bit about student behavior! Plan on being very selective of the school district I work in.

wow! you’re so pretty and seem like such a role model! i’m 16 and i want to teach english 4 or psychology and sociology in highschool! im so excited. i’ve always wanted to be a teacher to help kids learn.

I just had them show me the three methods of solving systems of equations and work out an example and explain it in words too !
