    Like I work on European cars so I'm used to some level of stupidity, but this one takes the cake. Seriously, they couldn't move the oil filter housing to the bottom?

    • @willyck948
      @willyck948 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brarautorepairs I made the manager laugh, changing oil on the new Mazda inline 6 cylinder. I said, whoever engineered this is a genius as I pointed out the oil cooler with the filter is next to the oil drain plug the next day.

    • @brarautorepairs
      @brarautorepairs หลายเดือนก่อน

      @willyck948 GM has the worst oil filter placements in the industry. The oil filter is next to the exhaust so you burn your arm taking the filter off. Audi doesn't want anyone to work on their cars. Every time I see a tech working on an Audi, the entire front end is off the car 😂. I'm like wtf is going on buddy? They said, oh it is in "service mode". BMWs come with free oil proofing at exactly 100k. Your engine oil cooler will fail and leak. Mercedes will score the special coating on the cylinder liner at 150k just because the oil takes too long to get to the rear cylinders. A Nissan Altima will never get an oil change because you know that car attracts a specific crowd.

    • @willyck948
      @willyck948 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brarautorepairs Most of the 2015 earlier gm v6 cars are disappearing as I live in the salt belt. I usually get the filters off from on top and let oil spill into a drain pan. I also use a rag to prevent getting burned. As for cars not built to last, it's hard to point fingers, but emmisions haven't helped longevity, and consumers will usually opt for cheaper alternatives when possible. The next worst oil change is the hemi rams with the sway bar next to the drain plug and oil filter over the power steering. Sway bar scatters the oil everywhere, and the oil filter is hard to reach, and oil drains all over the rack and pinion. Funny story, I had to change oil on an old Ford van, and the drain plug wasn't tight and wouldn't unthreated properly as it was binding, so I put it back to similar torque incase threads were screwed up and put silicone on it. Then, I proceeded to grab the vacuum extractor and sucked the oil out through the dipstick tube for the win. Custom was notified recommend new oil pan.

      @djladd241 I don't have to work on one right now, but I will try to keep it in mind. @@willyck948that’s fair! My engine is on a woodmizer. I replaced fuel shut off solenoid, the coil, both magnets/ignition, spark plugs, and harness/diodes. Also cleaned carb. Original issues were…not starting without fuel dump or starting fluid, slow crank, miss at high rpm, and not shutting off when ignition switch turned off. After cleaning and replacing my current issues are…miss at wot and not shutting down when switch turned off(like ignition shut down). It will shut off after about 3 seconds(fuel shut off solenoid shut down).

    • @willyck948
      @willyck948 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @AMH1102-y1w sounds like a bad kill switch and vibration at high speed may be causing ignition contact to ground and not make contact in the off piston. I would unhook the kill from the brower shroud terminal and see if the miss at wot goes away, then use a spare wire to ground out the post to verify the kill works or if a wire is loose inside the blower shroud.

      Some day, I'll fix my old 1970s 3hp tecumseh/generac generator as its light and easy to put into storage. I also have a 5000 watt generator for my simplicity garden tractors thats easy to store out of the way. My brother has a 100 amp military diesel generator hardwired to the house that works great. My brother mentioned if we had infillstructure for wind mills, or solar panels the diesel generator can be supplemental or even send power back to the grid and we could get a kick back from the power company. My brother makes whats known as black diesel. He runs it in his square body dodge with a cummins and cost is pennies on the dollar as black diesel is mix of junkyard used oil and stail gasoline. It would be cheaper to run the house full time off black diesel than pay for power, but it would be a full-time job maintaining and fueling the generator. That being said, if we just fired it up once a week and got paid for the power, it's probably worth the time. My brother is on tiktok anthonycooke27

      @ZippoVarga I can name one, but it's a bit of an oddball and I'd still rather simplicity 1970s sears suburban had 3 point tiller and finish mower, but not sure if they were quicker to interchange🤔th-cam.com/video/wzIhhv6Nhi8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WtLFfxzdVZXPX8uv

    I’m happy to see a good video on this. I just bought the exact same mower a few days ago. It came with a nice leaf vacuum trailer I believe the same year as mower. Trailer needs some repair of holes in the canvas top and maybe new 6” tubes. Mower runs good and all the belts are in good shape as is the deck. Only issue I have is that it’s a little difficult to change gears even though the brake/clutch seems tight enough. When I seen you mowing and switching from forward to reverse easily I realized mine is not normal. Any advise? I will be referring to this video in the future as I do maintenance. Thanks for sharing!

      If brake adjustment is too tight, the belt won't fully disengage. If belt is to small the pedal will bottom out against the runner board
