I go into all the planning and costs of my recent trip to Bali in this video. Below are all the details covered and relevant links:
Do Research on the key things:
- SAFETY - Watch videos about the destination from different people, especially of your own race. Please try by all means not to lose your phone. It’s basically your life line.
- WEATHER AND TRAVEL SEASONS: Check WEATHER and seasonal deals for Bali. The best weather is the European summer months (June to September). Rain begins towards end of November until early March. Do not go to Bali in the first two months of the year. You will be wasting money
- FLIGHTS: Search different flights. There is a flight from Singapore Airlines which I have also heard is AMAZING in economy class.
- ACCOMMODATION Search different accommodations (hotels/airbnb/villas) and book more than one if you are staying for up to 10 days
- INTERNET - PLEASE BUY YOUR SIM CARD BEFORE HAND. Don’t bank on having WIFI somewhere to connect. You need it for Grab (Uber), you need it to contact loved ones to check in that you’re okay. Also you need it to post content in real time. Stories or posts.
- TRANSPORT - download the GRAB App or GOJEK App for transport. It is the same as Uber in our country. It is relatively affordable especially given the TRAFFIC that is in Bali. Use a bike if it is not raining and you have a small bag on you. It will get you places faster.
Booking and preparing for your travel:
- Book flights in advance, there’s no winning game with flights if you book them a month before…they will be expensive. Use miles if you have them.
- Book different accommodation if you can. I highly recommend you stay in different places on the island
- Process you evisa on arrival online
- 3 days before travel - fill out your customs declaration and health declaration forms online and pay your tourist levy
