This is a clear indication that NS wanted to just " BURN" the chemicals instead of recovery. " FOLLOW THE MONEY" Begging for forgiveness ( of which they already had from this government) for burning as opposed to Recovery .

What I understand from this is that given the wreck, one of the tanks was causing worry about explosion from heat/pressure. Consultants were on the phone, and if I remember correctly, one of the people from oxy-vinyl (is that the name) showed up. There was certainly enough time. But they showed up(whether by phone or by being there) and allayed the fears that there was any risk to exploding, and blowing shrapnel all over E. Palestine. SO...no need to fear an explosion. No polymerization, not enough heat. This was told to the railroad people. Shaw knew of it along with his staff. YET, the information they conveyed to the people on the ground remained about risk. Explosion. They did not relay the information to the command structure. Blowing it up was not necessary. Not necessary to destroy the health of people who were there. OH. But it was necessary to blow it up. That was the quickest way to clear the tracks to get the railroad running again. Least expensive thing to do to save the railroad money (dividends for the shareholders). So, this remains to this day conspiracy to commit fraud, and fraud, and too, some sort of murder charge for the ultimate man in charge of getting that information to the command authority. In relation to this, just have to ask the question as to how much of this were the people from the various EPAs, I think all three were there, were privy to the information that the ultimate commanders did not.

Rick, those filter canisters can only absorb so much elements before the filtering compound gets neutralized or plugged. They screw off the mask and are replaceable. If you are smelling fumes its past time to replace them. Grainger should stock them if you cannot find them elsewhere. Take care.
