Hello, How can I change the "hostname" to an actual IP address?
Dear David, Thank you for your comment. In our case, the connection address is opc.tcp://DESKTOP-9FFENFS.mshome.net:53530/OPCUA/SimulationServer, where DESKTOP-9FFENFS is a hostname. However, you can easily replace it with the IP address of your device (PC), for example, opc.tcp://192.168.1.105:53530/OPCUA/SimulationServer. @@prosysopc Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes, I understand what you just explained. My main question is HOW can the hostname be changed to an IP address. I want to change the hostname to an actual IP address and cannot do that. It was also mentioned in the manual that it can be done but now how it could be done. I need to know how to do it. I have tried to but no success.

The hostname is currently can be changed either in the Client/UA Browser's Server Address Bar, or you can copy your connection address to any text editor and replace the hostname with your IP address using the following format: opc.tcp://192.168.1.105:53530/OPCUA/SimulationServer. Please note, you cannot change your connection address in the Simulation Server. Also, if you would like to establish a reverse connection, you will have to use only the IP address and not the hostname. Best Regards, Prosys OPC Team
@@prosysopc Thank you very much! I eventually did it by using the BIND address - CUSTOM - CONFIGURE in the Endpoints Tab. I Checked one of the IPs and used this IP as a replacement for the hostname in the Clients address area.
