In this video I take you through the steps in growing your own chillies and other ingredients for the use in making hot sauce!
Recipe:
Ingredients: 15-20 Habaneros + other peppers you grow
1/2 cup of vinegar to start (apple cider if you like)
Fruit of your choice, I used loquats, something with a lot of sugar, Pineapple??
4tsp Olive oil, really just enough to coat the pan
4tsp Sugar, maybe a little more if you have a lot of peppers
2 cloves of garlic, unless you like garlic, then go ham
1/2 tsp kosher salt.
2 Red Onions or any onion
Couple handfuls of baby carrots (maybe 2 medium carrots)
Fresh Ginger, maybe 1 medium piece
Rough chop all your peppers, onions, garlic, ginger, carrots and cook for about 8-10 min on low heat, stir and add just enough oil to keep things from sticking too much.
When it looks about 1/2 cooked add your fruit, if its frozen let it cook until its matched temp with the rest of ingredients
Then add your vinegar, sugar and salt.
Stir and simmer another 10 min.
Let cool, and blend smooth
Bottle and enjoy!!!
