ohh I’m so sorry about that. I cut out 1.5 from the trouser pattern. while on the fabric I added allowance making it 2.5(which I later sewed to 1.5.) is this clear enough?

@@shalewaolaolu1619 ok I get you now. 1. Yes fold the dart before cutting out your desired band width. 2. Replace the dart back ( if you’re cutting 1.5” width for your band , that means you have to extend the dart by 1.5”

for now, you can try taking in more sewing allowance from the band you made, this might be the cause of your gaping , and did you fold in your dart before cutting out the band?

definitely! but no need for ease allowance and please don’t add too much sewing allowance. use your exact hip measurement for the crotch depth, you can even make it 1 inch lesser. so the crotch wouldn’t have too much excess.

Then input your knee circumference divide by 4( mark the result on each side of the lines(crease line) From there (the knee circumference) you can mark the 1”
