What a good director Sam was. This sequence was improvised on the set. All the little groups and cutaways etc as the foursome walks to their doom. That very nice sideways move of Mapache's aide de camp into the shot at 2:47 is masterly.

Unos niños de papá que se aburren demasiado. El relato de los perros por parte de la madre, entre sonrisas lo dice todo...UN DESENCANTO
El que se aburre demasiado eres tú ¿ese es el juicio que sacas de la película? ante un relato realmente poliédrico de un tipo de familia, ya casi desaparecida por cierto, de una intelectualidad, de la locura y disfuncionalidad social, etc. y tu juicio es una obviedad, que es lo primero que aparece y que es unos niños de papá aburridos... lo demás pasa por tí como quien ve llover. Patético
Niños de papá aburridos? Tres hermanos absolutamente incomunicados entre ellos , llenos de vicios resultado de una infancia absolutamente traumatizada a la sombra de un padre déspota y brutal ...Una familia "perfecta" franquista que escondía la desintegración total . Quítale el filtro del dinero anda, que hay familias en las 3.000 viviendas de Sevilla infinitamente más felices que ésta, si expuestos ésta lo ha sido alguna vez.
Obra maestra del western lo que ponía en el pasquín del film era la verdad. Cuando ellos aparicieron el cielo se tiñó de sangre.
I would have searched for food for the dog rather than be "fascinated" at it licking dust off of my shoes. May be poetry for JM but it's real life for the starving dog.
