This model technically doesn’t have a specific’ Sports mode’ however your probably referring to the + - sequential on the shifter. I cant see that shifting manually would be any faster but id be happy to try it out.

Basically for emissions reasons, generally more prominent on low budget cars with older designed engines. (copied from Google) The delay allows air to mix with the remaining fuel in the manifold, burning off any excess that might otherwise cause an undesirable, high-emission scenario. This throttle delay is what causes rev hang.

Basically a tune can fix it if the ECUs unlocked.

Heavy flywheel. The flywheel is the spinning disk on the engine that transfers energy into the clutch and subsequently the transmission. A heavier flywheel allows for smooth overall gear changing and driving, however, this is traded for instantaneous response and quick gear changes. Its slow to move up and slow to fall back down in RPM because the engine has to work harder to move a heavier mass around. Light flywheels are typically for performance gains, faster gearshifts, but ultimately trickier to use and very rough on the vehicle if you aren't skilled enough.

@@Bandit4557 a heavy flywheel has more inertia but that's not what causes rev hang. a lot of modern cars keep the throttle open for a short period after you release the throttle pedal to cut down on emissions. a lighter flywheel would only make the revs drop faster *after* the throttle fully closes, so it wouldn't fix rev hang at all

Yeah nice, yours is the pre-facelift. Mines the facelifted 2016. The face lift was mid 2015. They added standard LEDs to the front, different gauge cluster, rear lip spoiler, rear cross traffic alert and a update climate control. Also a physical button for traction control. Thats the main differences. I still absolutely love the prefacelift don’t get me wrong.

Oh 😂😂. Just sounded louder than what I anticipated ig. My granny also has a 2010 (I think) Toyota aurion atx. She’s got memory problems now so she doesn’t drive it anymore, my grandpa keeps it running for her

@@mrxss1yeah and my dad who has the very last aurion used to have a 2008 Toyota aurion atx. That one became really problematic as the shock absorbers got replaced and the engine had to have lots of work done to it. He got sick of it and then bought the 2017 Toyota aurion presara which runs extremely well nowadays still

Update: battery is all replaced with a 630cca one, car starts up the hell of a lot better now. Also since it had been serviced it takes off a lot better now whereas my dad said it would sometimes feel like it struggles to take off.

Yeah it’s pretty full on with the noise! I ended up putting the baffles back in, now I’m happy with it!

@mrxss1 just put them back in today. Sooo much better. There was a certain drone in the rpm with the baffles out that just went right through me. Just takes that edge off with them back in, still pops and bangs on deceleration. Just doesn't have that deep burble on tick over with them back in but miles better.
