    Lao pho vs. Viet pho. Which is better? And what's the difference between the two phos?

    • @kingjeyyy
      @kingjeyyy ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually make my pho the Viet way, since I personally like Viet pho better. They aren’t drastically different yet very different the same time. Lao pho broth does not use as much spices, as the flavor tends to focus more on the deep beef flavor. But in reality the big difference is going to be how we top the pho. Lao people like to add fried garlic and chili oil, plus eat pho with shrimp paste and chili peppers. Alongside a million veggies and herbs.

    • @kingjeyyy

      There are so many boutiques and small hotels/guest houses you can rent. We stayed at My Lao Home - you can find them on Agoda! No need to book for a place with free breakfast because breakfast at the morning markets or street vendors is super delicious!

    Thank you for melting our mouths. Nice video. What would you recommend for someone who is solo traveler and does not speak local language? Do they understand English or French at least little?

    • @kingjeyyy
      @kingjeyyy ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment! I found that most of the hospitality workers spoke decent English to help you get around. At the market, they may know minimum English, but they’ll know enough to tell you how much each item costs. Usually the market members have a decent way to communicate in English with foreigners since these are popular places to go to. You can try French! Back in the day everyone knew French. However, the younger generation may not be as verse with French as they are with English since English has become more dominant. For a solo traveler, I think this is the perfect city to visit and meet other travelers or locals. Try using Couch Surfing app to find meetup groups. However I found that there are friendly travelers if all ages, often in small groups, but decent number of solo travelers as well. It’s a quaint but beautiful city, so lots for you to do on your own. Easy to talk to others around you.

    • @kingjeyyy
      @kingjeyyy ปีที่แล้ว

      Excuse me? I think you’re lost in translation somewhere. Don’t come at me with this rude comment. 1. This video is based on my personal experiences that I’m choosing to share. You’re accusing me of not telling the true story on what basis? I’m being my true self and providing my honest opinions you can choose to watch or move on. 2. I am doing a service by promoting Lao culture and Lao food, helping lift my people and enlightening the world on the beauty of being Lao. 3. If you have a problem because I wore a mf T-Shirt, then move on to someone else or go make a damn video on your own. It’s hot as hell in Laos. You think I’m going to walk around in a suit and tie just to go sit down and eat? And if there was a mf dress code at that place, then I wouldn’t have eaten there. The truth, as you seem to think I need to provide more truth, is that there was NO DRESS CODE. If there was, it was not written and it was not made known us. Rather, the staff rushed to give us the best food and experiences. So if you have a problem with my T-Shirt then get dressed up and make your own video. Thank you for watching my video. However, your rude comment is lacking truth and is unnecessarily misleading.

    • @thatsanalainthanousay2430
      @thatsanalainthanousay2430 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingjeyyy I’m sorry I have no intentions to be rude to you. There is misunderstanding about telling the truth. I meant to say Lao food is delicious that’s the truth. About T-shirt yes I said it bc restaurant itself looks a little bit for upper class. True there is no dress code has written on their tables. I apologized. You can wear whatever you want. I don’t pay for ur food n I’m not the owner either. Do what makes you happy. I decided to write this comment I thought bad n good go together. My bad It’s the truth n the fact. If I don’t like it,I can move on n I don’t have to watch your video. Yes I have a choice. But my choice turned out to be rude to you I apologize. Honesty,sometime thing doesn’t turn out well.
