    Thats a damn fine looking body. I wonder if itd fit my enduro sendero hd? I'm not overly keen on the cab and roll cage look.

    Nice truck! Thoughts on this vs the Sendero HD? I am getting my first 10th scale truck soon (have a few 24th scales) and at the moment are between those two. I get the impression this one is probably not quite as capable as a crawler since it's so heavy...but it sure does look nice. I really want to be able to put a driver in and would need to do some interior work on the Sendero to get that to work. Edit: also not totally opposed to getting the element builders kit 2 then putting a different body on with better electronics.

    • @idearc8184
      @idearc8184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me the Bronco is my scale nice looking trail truck. Don't get it wet or muddy. I have rock lights in the wheel wells and just love how it articulates over terrain. Very capable no doubt. The Sendero stock blew me away with crawling successes. Its more Frankenstein anymore. I've done so much to that truck$$$$$$. It boils down to what type of rc you makes you happy. Both trucks are great. I've got 5 crawlers now and each one i use in specific aplications. My TRX 4 is for mudd, snow, water etc.... My element sendero and capra are for crawling technical crawls. And my Bronco and gen8 v2 scout are my scale looking rigs. That said, any of these trucks could be used in any of the other categories. Good luck!!!!!

      @CoolHandLukeZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idearc8184 Right on thank you for the reply. I live in the Sierra Nevadas and so do a lot of rock/granite crawling with my 24th scale trucks. They are pretty capable so I like to find crazy lines...but I am also really into scale looks which I know can be a sacrifice for performance. I might have to just end up with two trucks...one that I can beat up and another that I can keep safe haha

  • @TheRCBuildersPost

    You can definitely mount hyrax or any other proline tires on those wheels. It's a pain but it can be done. The grabbers are not a "rock" tire. They are a really, really good copy of the actual full size grabbers. They are a mud tire. I've found that they perform very, very well in stock form but only after being worn in a bit. I have also cut a couple of sets and they perform really well out of the gate but found that my worn stock tires out perform my worn cut tires. But I've also learned that if I'm building or wanting a rock oriented truck, I'll op for proline crawlers or super swampers and be done with it lol. I prefer a scale tire just because it's fun. 😂.

    If I'm not using Pro-Line wheels with their foams, I always grind off the inside locating rib(the hump of blue foam that runs around the inside of the blue part). It's only there to center the foam on a Pro-Line wheel. Other than that I really like their two-stage foams. They make a big difference over stock foams for me, especially when a rig starts to gain weight from brass/aluminum upgrades. Also, if you leave the inner locating ring on, you may have some side to side movement after they are mounted, especially with wider tires. I just use a dremmel to take it off.

  • @justhilarioustv7406

    The extrem hight goes straight into the drive shafts. You better put spacers into the shocks to shorten them.

  • @TheRCBuildersPost
    @TheRCBuildersPost 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Stock generals are pretty great tires once broken in quite a bit and are great on wet rock. Ive never had the HD body but Ive heard a lot of complaints about it being thin. I had the trailwalker, trailrunner, gatekeeper and then got a kit and been building element kits ever since lol. SSD knuckles are my go to as well. Nice and beefy. The treal diff cover is the heaviest I have found out of SSD, Samix, Hot racing and Treal. Samix being the lightest. Nice upgrades so far!

    This is my first basher & totally agree with your review currently it's down due to front shock issue. One thing that is really annoying me is small stones blocking the steering it either blocks turning completely or limit it I can't drive for straight five minutes without coming back to clear the stones and debris from steering area and the whole chassis in order for it to steer well. I tried the duct tape fix/mod with no much luck as the environment where I bash is gravel.

    It's been awhile so I hope you're all square now, but just in case or for anyone else who might see this: The shock shafts can be reinserted with gorilla glue, so if you get a spare set for cheap you can just keep rotating them and regluing them as they pop apart and that works pretty well. I got tired of that though and bought some zd shocks basically amazon special. They're only slightly taller and have adjustable preload. Or 6s Typhon shocks fit if you want name brand. The driveshafts once they pop are done. After playing with the slipper and going from too loose to too tight and 3 sets of drive shafts and a crap ton of vids on how to do it "right" I bought the arrma cvds and as long as you don't have that slipper cranked all the way tight you'll be fine with those in the rear. Speaking of the slipper, find where you want it and then put a drop of RED lock tight in the back and then set it. The blue does not always seal strongly enough to keep it from self loosening. I bought the slipper repair set and even though the v3 does not technically need it, I use the additional locknut in the back that comes in the bag to ensure the slipper stays right where I put it. The spur is borderline sealed in if you see black dust in there the spur is scraping against the housing. You can pick up shims for a couple bucks to keep the spur free. I leave it plastic as it's cheap and fast to replace, so it works for me as the weak point in the drive train. The 4s line was discontinued, probably in part because making these rigs 4s takes this design beyond the scope of its capabilities imo. Ran as a 2s truck with some occasional 3s shenanigans will keep it running longer but screw that 😂 Mine has all the stuff I mentioned above done to it from running into the same issues as you, metal diffs front and back and the 6s spectrum esc in it now. I could have had a 6s rig given the money I dumped into it getting to do what I want but that's part of the fun 😎 plus I didn't have to throw down that big check all at once. But yeah if you wanna run em like the TH-cam guys do, get a 6s or prepare to spend some $ over time until it's where you want

  • @goldendredger
    @goldendredger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks, I been running these on my Gatekeeper for about 2 weeks. Seriously thinking about trimming like you have done. I just wish they would hook on the edge of a rock and pull. They can be just over the edge and spin rather than bite. I have 2 stage foams that was a huge improvement. But I would like a bit more from these tires. I am waiting for Duratrax Deep woods 1.9 to come back in stock. But I think opening the lug spacing is the trick to put these on par. They actually do a super job and are soft enough and seem to be wearing just fine. They just need a little extra.
