I think they are the cut threads of each pair originally cut when the pairs were cut to form the loops. You seem to have a short section above the first sharp turn in braid just to the left of where the reconnection began.

I have completed my first doily to the point of the last 4 passes of the cloth stitch braid. I am confused about the cut threads that pass through the loops made. What are these threads?
