      "Joe beats out Milton"? I don't hate the Milton pick because i think he beats out Maye (although that would be a HUGE waste of the 3rd pick) I don't like it because I don't believe he's capable of being a qb1 at the nfl level. Reports have come out saying they both look very solid so far and if Milton proves me wrong and succeeds then I will be happy. I just don't see him succeeding at least right away.

      The QBs in next years draft class are horrible compared to this year. They are confident in Maye and did a solid job building around him. Having him sit for a year wouldn't be bad giving him time to develop and learn. I'm an OSU fan so I love MHJ but it's more important to get your franchise qb when you can.

    Just because I think you spark some interesting insights on how you view the titans; the titans are a much better team in terms of a Super Bowl chase than people want to realize. It’s easy to see the offense and with recent memory in mind that’s fair but injuries, which you didn’t mention (context is key), are what killed the team. Only 5 of 22 starters even played this year; half the team was on ir. They broke injury record like 2 years in a row. The defense is great. Top 5 pass rush and that’s what matters the most in the NFL. Moving back to offense, Chig wasn’t talked about neither. He is going to be a stud; he was severely underused and all u had to do was do research and see what the titans have and you wouldve known about him. tannehill is the unquestioned starter this year barring injury. They will let Willis and Levis compete for qb2 as tannehill plays out his contract. Something else you didn’t mention is the fact that Hopkins has connections with both Vrabel and the oc Tim Kelly; Kelly was his OC in the 2019 year, when Nuk put up 1100+ and 7 tuds. Definitely will help. Good content though, nonetheless!

  • @stevemelnyk7480
    @stevemelnyk7480 ปีที่แล้ว

    This definitely wasn't the best landing spot for Hopkins. Tennessee has been mainly a running team for the past several years so I don't think Hopkins will be used to the best of his ability. I was hoping to see him land with a passing team like Dallas.

    Alright, let's quibble. First, where I agree is that none of these rookies slated to be starters are gonna be much. Someone did a study that showed good receiving TEs don't become those until age 25, & the age at which QBs stop freezing or panicking like Zach Wilson is around one's 23rd birthday with 22.5 being the youngest at which anyone can have success. Levis was already 24 & putting up numbers that kept him out of the 1st pick discussion. Young is the oldest of what's left (besides Hooker who won't be the starter) & will only be 7 weeks past his 22nd b-day come kickoff time. & I too think that Mac Jones can be good this year. But _Daniel_ Jones? How to put it: th-cam.com/video/HkNpZxq80N4/w-d-xo.html shows Greg Roman sending _all_ receivers into triple coverage on one play, & it's not all he does to sabotage his won team's ability to move the ball effectively. He always runs to whatever side the man in motion moves _from_ ergo tipping off opposing defenses. He sends receivers on routes that end up in the same location, concentrating the defense around them thus nullifying them being open. Yet Lamar Jackson out-ran _AND_ out-TD'd Jones in 4.75 fewer games. Upon _what evidence_ do you think he's 'good?' This was his _ONLY_ season that wasn't a sheer _disaster!_ So he's not a rookie. This may not have been his ceiling, but it's damned _close_ & with an offense that stacked AND CotY calling plays, that production is inexcusable. As for your Hurts argument, so the back-up couldn't fit into the habits of the rest of the team = proving Hurts _is_ the offense has _some_ merit, does anyone think Aaron _Rodgers_ let's say only throws 22 TDs on this team? Your argument isn't *all* of the facets of the circumstance. I'd have made a couple of tiers for in-between because the Eagles _did change_ how they used AJ Brown & from then on, they started connecting big, & that required Hurts to throw lots of 'trust the receiver' throws & he nailed 'em. At the same time though, I couldn't name someone as élite until they showed they can play a full year at that level. Back to Lamar again who threw *36* TDs to only 6 INTs his great year without _one_ true #1 receiver. Hurts has 2 & his production is less. & I don't count any of the "rushing" TDs where "rushing" was the o-line picking him up & throwing him over the goal line. Cripes who can _fail_ to score a TD when that's being done? This needs to be made illegal again. It's such a high-school level play. "Agree to disagree," eh?

    Pretty good vid. While I understand you don't want to _dismiss_ any teams, you spend too much time justifying the bottom-most teams. Where do we disagree...? The Bucs. What do they have? When was the past time Baker Mayfield was consistently good? The Commanders are unknown at QB but they were good last season with no starting-quality one, so *I'd* have put them in the yellow or light green. I'd put the Panthers as missing the playoffs simply because look how well they did last season without CMC & with Sam Darnold? They're strong at the non-star positions. You have to assume Healthy Players just like with Miami. So despite how terrible Wilson was last season, the Broncos are a potential wild card team until they prove otherwise. The Bears: I can't figure out _why_ people still let previous years affect their assessment. They didn't just add DJ Moore, they've improved everywhere. They're a sleeper. I look at how complete they seem now & try to think of another team _as_ complete. Maybe the Lions, Bengals Broncos & Chiefs? That's great company to be in. The Ravens' biggest upgrade is that Greg Roman is gone. I actually think he was intentionally sinking the team to save the owner from having to pay Lamar. You want to see video of his sending receivers to run behind defenders just to stand there, or of him sending them into triple coverage? There's also footage of him always sending the man in motion to the opposite side of where they run, tipping off the opposition. I expect them to take the North this season. Where I *especially* agree is Pittsburgh, New England & the Bills. I _do think_ that the Bills are going to suffer something like an identity crisis from not only losing, but looking utterly lost in their playoff lost to Cincy. They made *zero in-game adjustments.* This will erode confidence in their staff & thus themselves. The Patriots are a classic case of repeating the same mistakes as if they're not mistakes because of who is making them "and his system *works!"* 1) It never did. Bill has a losing career record without Brady & _with_ Brady, his system required cheating to work. _Years_ of cheating to make it work. As for the Steelers, they got a lot better. Unfortunately, they didn't do so in a vacuum & every team in their division got better or stayed ahead of them (Bengals). Who are they beating by becoming a little bit stronger on D & only getting blockers on O? Not teams who can effectively move the ball. Also, just saw a devastating video based on stats & footage" Pickett sucks against zone defense. I _like_ what they did because the blocking on offense got _SO_ much better & we're likely never going to see such a change on Just One Facet ever again (unless this exceeds our expectations) so we can learn from it. But we don't see how it's gonna win them games. Oh, & there's always Matt Canada affecting that. You're right about the Chiefs: generally, they're _about_ as strong as last season, but yeah, Kelce will be on the decline & the other teams you put up there _have improved_ except San-Fran who doesn't need to yet. Yeah, they might have a rocky start. On paper, I agree with putting the Chargers up there, especially with their new OC. But that curse, while I don't believe in such things keeps surprising me. This is good. No one is likely to agree on all 32 assessments.

      @@jlay-mf8sc It's not The Biggest Deal. The Commanders have an outside shot at a wild-card spot, but it more or less requires 2-3 other teams to really under-perform. The QB situation is too unknown. But there are also few mid-level teams like them in the NFC. Assuming the 49ers & Seahawks make it, Eagles, Saints then Lions or Bears (I _really think_ people aren't grasping how great the Bears are about to be), then there's still the Giants, possibly Cowboys, Lions & or Bears that I have more confidence in. But missing the playoffs by a little or a lot will only enter into things when people start whining about how their team will make it _next_ year. (Those Falcons fans are truly delusional. Even if they by some miracle win their division, who won't beat them in the playoffs)?

    Here's an insight no one's gonna like. (I'm putting it here because sadly, it _really_ applies to The Colts). The age at which men can shut out the panicky inner voice that screams about linemen coming after you is somewhere around one's 23rd birthday. Peyton Manning is a great example. His rookie season sucked, but at some point he starts playing like the HOFer we all know & never looked back. He was born in March & without any changes in routine, play-calling, on-field talent or coaching, he just suddenly could focus better. Young is a July baby. Stroud is October. Richardson likely won't be ready at the start of _next_ season. Remember how poised Brock Purdy was, looking off defenders twice before throwing? Yeah. His first start was a month before he turned 23. Lamar Jackson being MVP as a rookie? 3 months, about the same as Peyton. Until I see an outlier, this approximation is only off by *months,* not years, & I know of no outliers. The NFL is doing a lot of potentially great QBs a disservice by thrusting them in to start before that point. What Zach Wilson does is regress due to being overwhelmed by his Fight or Flight instinct kicking in. He doesn't even realize it's happening, & he can't explain it because it's a 100% subconscious reaction. One that men can't *naturally* overcome before the ability to shunt aside that panic clicks in naturally.

      I can't tell if you're trolling or not, but I'll respond anyway. Firstly your logic makes zero sense. Your theory completely falls apart when you consider the fact that they can handle linemen coming at them in college. If they could only tune it out at 23 years old or around that age, then they wouldn't be doing it in college. Maybe, just maybe, players play better after a year or two in the NFL? That makes much more sense. The only player you mentioned who didn't play for a year first is Purdy, who has arguably the best offensive mind in football, a top offensive line, a top receiving group, an elite receiving back, and was playing in a dumbed down more simple version of the offense. Not only that, but he also had a top defense which allowed him to play safer and take what he could get vs risking it by throwing down field. Lamar also wasn't MVP as a rookie, he was MVP his 2nd year when he was 22 years old. He played better before 23, and hasn't had close to his MVP year since. It seems like you just made this up with 0 evidence or facts. Weird theory.

      @@rebel8215 Nope. I've coached, read a ton of social psychology & this fits. Still haven't seen anyone not react in panic (the way Zach Wilson is almost a parody of) before about 22.5 years old. Even Ben Roethlisberger was born March 2nd. I'll try the short version first; Subconscious reactions like fight or flight instincts develop as we age. Infants can only cry their discomfort. Children can't fully realize dangers nor multitask. They leave their coats in the park because they can't think of anything they don't need now. While we're legally adults at 18, this process isn't done yet. Playing QB at the NFL level can overwhelm people in a way not experienced at college, just like asking a child to multitask would cause them to wander away to avoid the creeping feeling of being overwhelmed. What Zach Wilson does is literally start doing what he did at The Combine, or regress to a happier time. He's overwhelmed. An older adult can deal, he couldn't. I'd have more examples only Trevor Lawrence had Urban Meyer & Justin Fields had The Worst Receiving Corps (and Nagy) for two years so I don't know. There's a _HUGE difference_ between college & the NFL. Average time & pocket as well as relative size of the defenders likely play a role (hence Ben Roethlisberger). But it's a different experience being in the NFL as opposed to being around player who mostly won't make it there. It's more me observing than making it up. At first I too thought "college = NFL" but in college, being a football player, especially a QB gives one status. It takes one sack by a Nick Bosa followed by something like "welcome to the NFL" to make an egotistical kid realize he ain't in college anymore. If the college experience doesn't overwhelm them, the NFL one still can. QBs who started later like Dan Marino, Joe Montana never had those jitters. Anyhow, it's food for thought as I don't want the new crop to face the hate Hurts & Fields got, but it's likely unavoidable. I do not expect Richardson, Stroud or Young to be able to not freeze, throw INTs or other things if forced to start this season.

    Remember when Aaron Rodgers was drafted by the Packers & Day One they threw him *at* Brett Favre & said "here; Learn!"? Yeah I wonder if they even talk to Jordan Love. They hire hands-off coaches who act like tyrants to boot. He needs coaching & ain't gonna get it there. The Colts have Gardner Minschew when even Andy Dalton would be better. They have everything else needed to be a playoff team, yet I say you're right. QB will slow them down a ton. The Bears signed _one_ great o-lineman then drafted another potential one: it doesn't matter if Nick Bosa gets past the G or the T, Poles got two players for a 5-pleyr line of protection _AND_ we're already hearing reports that Wright isn't as good as expected. Poles wasted his last 4 picks in the draft on players at positions he had filled. Can't rate the Commanders until we _know_ that Howell beats Brissett in camp. If so, then we can be hopeful & they are likely a playoff team. They're like the Panthers & Colts, only maybe less depth. They have everything needed to be great _except_ QB. The Cowboys will be letting Mike McCarthy call plays next season. Yeah. 9 & 8 at best. Dan Jones already _has_ Brian Daboll adjusting the entire offense for him & threw a whole 15 TDs. He ensures the Giants can't go up by two scores so there's little margin for error. This is unsustainable. The Bills have an identity crisis. They need a _LOT_ of coaching help & when Daboll leaves you, then you're always going to feel abandoned & that every replacement is inadequate. The Raiders need leadership. You can plug all the high-value players you want onto a Josh McDaniels offense & he will use you how _he wants,_ not how what is best for the team. The Ravens are finally gonna let Lamar play. The sky's the limit. (I have tons of film on how utterly inept Greg Roman was as OC play-calling). He threw 36 TDs to only 6 INTs the only other time they allowed him to be free. Anyone think he's _worse now at 26?_ The AFC North & East are gonna be _TIGHT!_ One can't predict who in the East might pull away or sink, & no one in the North is weak. It's going to be way more interesting than last season, except for maybe on Thursday nights. That broadcast is cursed.

      @@jlay-mf8sc Agreed. But was _this_ their biggest weakness? It's a little too much of looking here because the light is better. Bill knows CBs. Also, it's been a cornerstone (I know it's a pun, but not intended as it's the proper term) of His System that he's still trying too hard to recreate. (Possibly where the problems with Jones came in, Bill's trying to make him play like Brady). There's nothing _wrong_ with this, but they've played this system so long & Bill has blinded himself to elements of it that he supposedly can no longer do: illegally recording other teams at practices, studying those recordings with Brady so that he always knows which check-downs will be available are parts of his system. Not to mention turning over the less pressurized ball less often. Once Brady learned what to look for in defenses, he didn't need to continue looking at recordings. He _still knew_ how to read them pre & post snap th-cam.com/video/5UQ_3WH3dOo/w-d-xo.html. Jones hasn't learned this yet. I'm not even sure most QBs _CAN_ learn this without having illegally-made footage to study. In case they trade him, Bill sure af doesn't want Jones to study _theirs!_ 😆
