This is a GREAT Stress Reliever! The Cherokee Six Therapy.
I took out the Cherokee Six on a joy ride and ended up flying over my property. Flying has been a great stress reliver for me since I began flying. I normally have been flying out of Centennial airport in Denver metro Colorado where you must always be cautious of Class B airspace. But this time, I took off from Big Sandy Airport and flew around without having to worry about class Charlie, Delta, or Bravo airspaces. Buckle up and welcome onboard the Piper Cherokee Six.

@@ElevatorBiker Thank you 😊
enjoy but too many words. Make it more brief and pause to let us take it in.
@@robertspitaleri9790 My friend, I make life the way I see fit. Anything I do will never be of 100% perfection! I learned to live with that. If you need a pause, then someone else will say I pause too much. But if you need a pause, then there is an easy solution like a pause button which could solve your issues. 😀
In the 90s took a lance from Mo. To Philadelphia 6 hours 6 people full fuel round trip $600. Heavy hauler for sure. Wish i still had it. Today would go Saratoga
@@johnelliott4521 It’s a tough decision for me. Almost 1600lbs for the Six and over 500lbs less for the Turbo Saratoga. With full fuel, I can barely get away with 3 passengers on the Toga. But I love how I can take it up to 15k or higher and get the better performance of the turbo. But with 5-6 passengers I won’t get very far so I’d take the Six.
Hi. I fly out of i69 a little north of you I recently purchased a 1968 Cherokee 6. Could I have your email ?
I know many people have probably told you this but I really appreciate this video. It has sealed the deal on what I am about to go through. I am 51 and can't say enough how excited I am about to embark on something I have dreamed about my entire life. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there.
@@BrassKnuckles73 when people tell me their stories it is just like hearing it for the first time. It is joyful to hear you say that. Congratulations on your journey and I hope it brings you as many thrilling experiences as it has for us. 😀
Great info, thanks!
@@GrahamCompton-i4w My pleasure 😊
I really want a retract like a Saratoga or a Centurion, but I’m going to end up with a Cherokee 6 because of insurance.
I totally understand. That's part of the reason why I also initially decided for the Cherokee Six. I decision that turned out to be a positive for me. After, the instrument, over 1k hours, and some retract time, I went with the Turbo Saratoga Retract for just a little more on the insurance. But the Six served us very well 😀
Currently the new owner of N43728. Loving it
Javier and I were just talking about how much we miss that airplane. I loved flying it! I also let go the Six 😢. I am moving on to newer projects and was not going to be able to fly them much. Congratulations 😊
Former Cessna 182 and 206 owner here. The Saratoga is my next plane.
Do you need to update the database for both the IFD and the Dynon unit separately, or can you update just one and have the other pull from it?
@@kfinona Hello, they are different units with separate databases.
Appreciate the response. On another note, which iPad mount did you go with?
@@kfinona I have a RAM Cradle.
11:15 thing is- they hung that Giant IO-540 way out ahead of the cabin in order to make a longer rear cabin. The baggage compartment was just a happy accident. And convenient sound deadening. Really is a wonderful plane. If i could, I’d put a Saratoga on a Cherokee 6 and get the performance in a fixed gear / high payload plane. But we can always dream 😂😂🎉 and I found that with my Saratoga , the gear was a 20kt difference up or down. But a Cherokee 6 fixed gear wasn’t all that much slower than mine retracted in flight
@@Electrocycle300 I like taking the Turbo Saratoga between 11,000 - 15,000 feet. At those altitudes it shows a significant difference between the normally aspirated Six. Now if you were lucky to get your hands on a good Cherokee Six with the old RayJay turbo normalizer then you’d get very close to your dream performance and keeping the payload. Too bad they stopped making them or I would have gotten my hands on one of them. 😀
And don't for get you have to ship your luggage and packages. I can't imagine living without a plane!
Carrying Luggage on a commercial plane is a pain 😀
Wondering what the size of your hangar is ??
46'x39'
You have to really work at crashing a 150.
What a cool and relaxing video! I lost my dad to cancer this year. Diagnosed on mom's birthday May 8. Passed away May 25. His Cessna 182 that he's owned since 1974 now sits in the hangar with a brand-new engine and upgraded avionics. He only got to fly it enough to break it in. I sure enjoy your videos! Blue skies and tailwinds my friend.
Hi Jason! Thanks my friend and I am saddened to hear about your dad. The Cessna 182 is a great airplane and it was one that I considered buying. I hope you continue your father's legacy or the airplane ends up in good hands my friend. Thank you for reaching out to me 🙂

Absolutely! That restaurant has been a blessing to us. Thanks 😊
Thanks again for the content!! I have just installed my aerocruze with my dynon HDX and Im super excited to try it out. I am wondering if Aerocruze can fly a flight plan just entered into the dynon?
Almost sounds like you're selling your aircraft? I hope that is not the case. Enjoyed your flight as always.
I appreciate you my friend. Thanks for joining me 😀
Thanks for this. Looking into this now at Dynon’s recommendation since they said the wait for their AP for the short-body Mooney is “indefinite.”
My pleasure. It has been a pretty good autopilot but not the best option for an IFR pilot. When I first bought mine the GFC 500 was not approved for the PA32 yet or I would have probably gone that route (Just something to consider). Not to mention, since TruTrak became Bendix my understanding is that the customer service has become unreliable. Overall, not a bad autopilot for the price. 😀
@@FlyingDirty Thanks for this too! My setup is dual Skyview HDX, D10A, IFD440, GMA345, iCom A220, and a remote transponder, etc. Dynon AP would've fit nicely, but AP is not a 'need' item for me at the moment. GFC is great, but for me to incorporate that (plus either a G5 or GI275) into my setup is $$$!
@@Devyn6Seven Yes, great point! The additional cost of the G5/GI275 does add up. Since you already have the HDX the TruTrak will communicate very well with it. I was also waiting for Dynon to approve the PA32s and they opted for the PA34 for some odd reason. I have a few buddies with the HDX autopilot and it is flawless! I think you'll be happy with the autopilot.
@@FlyingDirty Sounds like Dynon. I found out very recently they are only approving the AP for the M20J and M20K, which leaves me shit out of luck and looking for an alternative. This looks like it does enough to keep me happy. I really only want an AP so I can take a break while flying! My legs are sometimes 4h long.
@@Devyn6Seven I will tell you that it does fly the GPSS perfectly for those long trips. 😀
Hello sir! I’ve been watching your channel for a while and really enjoy it. I’m glad you posted a new video, I wasn’t sure if you were still using the channel. Really appreciate the content and your direction is always positive and reassuring!!
Thanks for such inspiring words my friend and I am glad to be a positive contribution. 😀
Does your Dynon have a wifi adapter? Mine doesn't broadcast over wifi. Love your videos!
Yes, it is a separate adapter but it is very easy to install and program. Don't remember what I paid for it but it should not be much my good friend 😀
I was with my avionics guy today, Jonathon Edmonds of Edmonds Aviation, Jonesboro Arkansas. He said I can buy the wifi adapter at Aircraft Spruce, it’s around $40, and showed me how to program it on a Dynon simulator. Thank you for sharing this info, I would have never known about it. Any chance you are going to AirVenture? I would like to say hello and shake hands with you.

Best of luck in your new ventures, whatever they may be. I hope we get to see you back and flying on TH-cam again in the future. Hello there my good friend! It’s been a while! Getting involved with multiple projects that are keeping me tied up. There’s never a dull moment in the book of life of mine 😀
Man, that’s crazy! I may have just miss you! I flew into big Sandy from Memphis just the other day! Great airport. I will say flying over those mountains was a little scary and gusty. But definitely a great airport. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to stop at the restaurant. Anyway, fly well, brother!
Big Sandy is a pretty nice relaxing airport. I like that you can get in and out fast without having long waiting traffic like in Centennial 😀. Having the experience and being used to the Rockies I pretty much know what to anticipate when flying over the hills. Here you don't really want to try flying over the 14,000 foot peaks on a single engine. If you get a strong downdraft it can bring the airplane down fast and you could stall trying to get out of it. It can certainly be a bit scary if you are not used to it. Thanks buddy and glad you made it over to Big Sandy my friend 😀
So you’re done flying Raul? I will miss your videos! I saw that you had sold both the Six and the Saratoga…. Wish you all the best in whatever is next!

Thanks a lot! It was supposed to be very short, but went right over my house and I had a strong headwind that made it about 20 minutes longer to enjoy the blue skies. 😀
