When my bf & I watched this anime back as it aired prior to watching it we had only played the games so when we found out that Chiaki was a real person we were both happy and were like "OMG! She's real! She's a real person! =D " Shortly after that we were then like "OH NO, she's a real person, she probably dies a really horrible death. D= " So when she inevitably died it hit us pretty hard, truly heartbreaking. Chiaki will always remain as the best girl in the Danganronpa franchise for me. <3 (Side note: I love her character so much that I named & designed one of my gf's in the mobile game Dream Girlfriend after her, lol.)

Chiaki nanami is the only danganronpa character that I have ever cried about just because I feel so guilty for not seeing how caring and sweet she was when she was alive in the anime and game.

i‘m crying so much right now. chiaki didn‘t deserve to die. she was a great person who wanted the best for everyone. she didn‘t care (not like the other hope‘s peak student) if hinata was an ultimate high school student. i love danganronpa, but they have to stop killing the best characters
