Preening Ruby Throated Hummer
This hummer sat here for a good 10 minutes (an eternity in Hummer world) doing a lot of scratching and preening and stretching.

BIKING A BACK ROAD

Biking a road I haven't been on in years, and never on a bike. Which changes a lot of things. Biking a road is a LOT different from driving one.
ROUGH RIDE

Testing out using a Nikon 1J1 as an action cam mounted on my bike. The camera and lens have no stabilization so I attempeted to stabilize it in a free video editer. Not great but better than nothing.The ride got rough in spots.

This little jewel comes to the feeder and takes very long drinks. I think she has a nest nearby.

Having a long beak is a bit of a disadvantage when preening!
They seem to get it done though, they are usually very neat and well tailored.

Ha! Used to do this with a butter knife, I'll try this method next time! Looks safer
Oh congratulations unless you plan on using everythig in that jar it wouldn't be fresh proff or reusable anymore
Thanks. We only do this when we plan to use the entire contents from the jar. Then the jar and lid goes for recycling.
