Sunscreen < really #FFS I’ve lived in Oz for my entire life, yes we have it pushed through the schools & other places & everyone in 90’s was scared out of their wits by the “slip slop slap” campaigns the truth is if you are fair skinned you need sunscreen if not like all things in moderation!!! Get a light amount of sun over a couple of day & as you brown you then can handle more sun, stay hydrated wear a hat & sunglasses & stop worrying unless of course your a “Ginger” then apply liberal amounts of 50+ stay away from crucifixes salt garlic & generally don’t venture out during the day < but seriously The sun in Oz is no different to else where on planet earth the ozone layer over Oz has reclose in the 2000’s Simply be sun smart if your prone to burning in the country your from on that odd hot day you’ll burn here, if you don’t burn back home you won’t burn here Enjoy your time here & beware of the “drop bears” 👍😎

Sydney is definitely not as safe as you say it is... Especially the CBD where alot of people from rougher areas congregate to party or be a nuisance in general. We have something called eshays and lads that frequently gather in the city and would gladly take your phone out of your hand at knife point if you were alone and they thought you were an easy target, especially obvious tourists with their backpacks etc who they believe will have more cameras, laptops, and other tech in their bags. I definitely wouldn't leave my phone lying anywhere without a trusted person looking after it anywhere near Sydney. Phones will be stolen no matter what local or not, don't tempt opportunity theives by just leaving it lying around.

It's not a subway, it's a train line, metro line or tram line. If you ask someone at the airport where the subway is you will find yourself looking at an American sandwich shop in the food court. But yes never get the train from the airport, it's actually cheaper to get a taxi to the next station over than it is to catch a train just out of Sydney airport. However there are also busses that will take you to the heart of the city and are more scenic than the trains. As for tipping the cost of living can be very expensive and tipping is definitely appreciated at places like food establishments and cafes. Minimum wage doesn't exactly cover a great lifestyle, a roof over your head paid bills and a week until next pay cycle is the norm for minimum wage workers. Please don't not tip just because you think we earn more, do your cost conversion and rates exchanges and realise that just about nobody born after 2000 will be able to buy a house without a very high paying job or inheritance. That surcharge goes towards the business not the staff. Most of those convenience stores you said to avoid sell cheaper smokes that anywhere else, you just got to ask what their cheapest is and feel free to grab yourself a 24/7 $1 coffee while you're in there. Just because most the things there are expensive doesn't mean that they don't stock some of the cheapest things like cheap smokes or even the odd shop that will still sell vapes.

Most souvenirs in Sydney are not Australian made and are made in China and are not genuine. Actually most cafes have a tip jar where you can put some loose change for appreciation of service purposes. You give when you feel like it. Also in Sydney in particular the light is overly bright and your film will be over exposed so adjust your lens. Whale watching is also good down on Maroubra Beach cliffs if you don’t want a cruise or can’t afford one. Take the light rail and then bus to Maroubra Beach. Some great walking trails down that way that are less crowded. In fact visit our National Parks they are much better value than popular tourist places. In fact visit all places less advertised to maximise value for your stay. There is more to Sydney than the Bridge and Opera House or the Harbour. Port Botany is our second harbour for Cargo Ships. Go somewhere and hire a boat. Go to Bundeena via Cronulla by train. Have fun.

Sydney has a number of resorts, especially on the coast and in the mountains, but I’d guess most people stay at hotels and AirBnBs. 1. It’s not a subway. It’s a train. Even translated into ‘Murican, it’s still a commuter train. 2. We treat our workers well and want them to head home at a reasonable time. That’s not a bad thing, hence the lack of tipping. But if you want stuff at an unreasonable hour, then you pay a LOT more. Thats great for the millions of workers and NOT the hundreds of bosses. That’s a good thing. 3. There isn’t an ozone issue anymore. Welcome to being closer to the tropics with less clouds than the tropics. There’s a reason people a generally browner closer to the equator. Me included. Other than that great video. Keep up the good work. 👍

Thanks! I’m a bit browner (Mediterranean heritage) myself which helps with the sun but I know a lot of tourists who’ve gotten some rough burns right off the bat

Sydney (or Australia generally) does NOT have an “ozone issue” as you put it. That is an endlessly perpetuated myth. Ozone depletion is only over Antarctica. Antarctica is a very long way from Sydney. The sun is strong because Sydney is at 35 degrees south (similar to LA, but of course LA is in the northern hemisphere). The lack of air pollution in the southern hemisphere is most of the cause.
