Congrats! The Koi is a great design and it looks especially good in the teal. Did you get it at the DC Pen Show? It is just a matter of time before I do a video of the Koi.

@@primarilypens I was not at the DC Pen Show. I was at Dromgoole's when David was present. I've known David for years and admired the pens but since I've been collecting urushi and maki-e primarily so have not gotten one of his pens. Glad I finally did,

It is 80 grams posted. I prefer it unposted as I find it a little back heavy in the posted position. It is nicely balanced unposted. The grip section might be too aggressive for some, but I like it.

It really is wonderful. This is one of my favorite solid sterling silver pens.

The last I heard from them was September of 2023 regarding their Blue Gold pen (beautiful pen, I will do a video eventually). I have a feeling they are no longer creating new pens but am not certain.

It could have been a supply chain challenge at the time. You should be able to check with your pen dealer what box it comes in.

Will do. I have the next few reviews already planned out, but should be able to do it late February or March. The Dragon is another of Michel Perchin's vitreous enamel pens. The 4 original colors were series of 88 pieces. The yellow is very beautiful. I tried to get one a couple months back but missed.

Erich, thanks! Yes, it is glass. David Oscarson uses vitreous enamel which is glass. The quality, artistry, complexity, and craftsmanship in David Oscarson’s work far exceeds what the Michel Perchin brand was able to achieve. I say that with some bias, but can back it up with numerous examples. Coincidentally, my next review will be of the Michel Perchin Star of India, which is one of my favorite MP. I do really enjoy several Michel Perchins, just not as much as DO.

@@primarilypens In general the older ones 5-10 months ago are very quiet overall, so the ads seem loud in comparison. This one was more comparable to the levels of the ads.

I plan on redoing the early videos. I have a better process now that should improve the video and sound quality.

I recently purchased a microphone to improve the audio quality. I think you will hear the difference in my latest videos.

I do not do writing samples because: 1) I have horrible hand writing 2) I modify most of my nibs so it is not particularly meaningful (although I have not modified the PF Two) For me, the PF Two writes very well. I have a very light touch and the pen starts immediately and flows very smoothly.

His use of materials is amazing. I have most of his early work and quite a few of his one-of-a-kinds. I will do a few more reviews this year of his work. Make a request and if I have it, I will do it.

The last time I bought them was around 1998. I think I bought eight of them and a bunch of spare erasers. The cost then was $25 per pencil and $1.50 per tube of two erasers. I have seen them sell on eBay, but it has been a while. I will post pictures in a couple facebook pencil groups and ask if anybody has one they are willing to sell. As the video suggests, I still have several but have never sold any of my pens/pencils and am not looking to do so.

@@primarilypens Im asking bcs right now I have a chance to buy one, new for around 15$. So if U suggest it is quality pencil and as I can see one of the rare ones (the factory that produced it was closed a long time ago) Ill do that. Tnx 4 your reply

I really enjoy the pencil; 20+ years ago I thought it was well worth $25 each, $15 today is a bargain. I mentioned in the video that Yafa had a knock-off that was sold by Office Depot (I think), but it did not seem as good of quality (the grip seemed cheap).
