Cheap butane lighter bleeder tool - #zippomafia
มุมมอง 8452 ปีที่แล้ว
If the budget is tight and you can't afford an official bleeder tool like the great one that Kismit featured in his video: th-cam.com/video/irD-9Z8W-lg/w-d-xo.html, a ball pump valve is a better option than using a knife or other object that could damage the fill valve on your butane lighter. #zippomafia

มุมมอง 4832 ปีที่แล้ว
Using the flame of your Zippo lighter, you are able to erase the details on shipping labels, medicine bottles, store receipts, or anything else printed on thermal paper. Not only is it cool to watch, but this can help prevent identity theft from naughty people sifting through your garbage. #zippomafia

    I’m having trouble getting mine to light sometimes. I redid the wick and cotton cause it will be full and u will strike and strike on it and it will not light. It’s like the striker just isn’t sparking good enough to light the wick. Pisses me off. Esp if I have latex gloves on while working on a vehicle and it won’t light. That’s why I’m watching videos here.

    *Instead of running the wick in an "S" shape,* I made it into shell shape spiral. The rationale is that it will draw fluid from the corners better, and draw the bottom fluid (which is more prone to evaporate) sooner. I've never tested to see if it makes a notable difference. *I use a single piece of cotton sliced to wrap around the flint tube to the outside,* the rationale is a single piece draws the fluid better. Some bored day I would like to try just 2 pieces of cotton fitted around the tube. *I removed the felt and used the baggie technique* to seal to hold a little more fluid. *Love the idea with the plastic inserts,* better than the butter knife I use, and you didn't have to stuff a small piece at the top.

    I got an idea, but I'm not sure if this could work. Is it possible to put two flints at the hole in the way that when one got empty the other is already there ? Or this will make harder for the wheel to spin ?

    How do you take the top part off to make the hole big enough to stuff with the plumbers felt or whatever.

    Yeah I'm thinking about filling the catalyst like you since the actual burner is $7 when the whole thing is $13. I saw some knock off for $1.99

    This video is amazing. There are so many small but incredible efficiency tips here for a Zippo novice (like me). Packing the extra flint and keeping a paperclip attached to the fluid via rubber band are both brilliant workflow improvements, thank you!

    Does it get any hotter with more catalyst that you put in? I just got mine and love it, but I wouldn’t mind it getting a liiiittle hotter haha. Great video either way, thanks!

    For the spare flint: (keeping it under the felt for too long *_WILL_* dissolve it!) - Remove the flint-spring-screw - Pull the little brass looking flint stopper thingy OFF the end of the spring - Put TWO flints inside the flint pipe - Re-insert the flint-spring-screw You're welcome 🤘🏻😎 (p.s. I used to clean that factory -- they are made in my home-town of Bradford, PA --> as well as Case knives!)

    These things are being sold for $95 now. Although the pink one is $39. Shocking price gouging. Grabbed one from Ali Express instead for $1.20 for 2.

    Have you tried using lamp oil (paraffin) in those? Mine seem to work OK but Mountain Parameters advise against (still don't know why). It's just higher order hydrocarbons in paraffin oil - definitely not more dangerous, rather the opposite as far as my organic chemistry knowledge goes.

    why not just use an electric hand warmer??

    • @Whatsup_Abroad
      @Whatsup_Abroad 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The better versions of these (like the peacock brand that licenses these to zippo) last much longer than any electric and there is no battery to go bad over time, plus no worries about the cold sapping battery power either. I started my peacock baby and giant yesterday, the baby ran for about 20 hours, and the giant hit a full 26 hours before stopping. If you are out camping or something this means it can run all day, and then you can warm your sleeping bag at night, plus all it takes is a refill and another light and it is working again.

    Old video but i got a question, after the wick is not working/dead or whatever, do you just pull the wick or do you have to do the s shape trick again?

    • @wayneholmes637
      @wayneholmes637 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just pull it out a bit then cut it. No need to do anything else. After doing it 2 or 3 times, depending on how much you cut off, you can repack it with a new wick.

    More catalyst equals more heat, use more in the head. Char prevents proper evaporation thus less heat, you may not notice the benefit of Carbon felt but it is there. Leave half or more Rayon and use a little Carbon felt each warmer.
