Hi John! What type of grip do you generally use for these spins? Do you change the grip with different faces of the paddle?

Great video. But some help for this newbie. Paddle away then move it closer to your body, rotate your wrists so the paddle is up then bend the elbow and paddle should be over your shoulder. But when is the point of contact, when you slow it down ? I couldn't tell from the video. Is the paddle up ?

In your video, one of the guys return the ball several times while stepping on the kitchen line. I've read in another post that it was illegal to do that correct? When that happens, what is the penalty or is it simply a do-over?

Wow, you’re lucky to get drives aimed so high over the net, lol! In reality, beginners at pickleball are already driving the ball fast and hard just above the net, so the ball is either hitting the ground extremely flat and fast or coming at your hip if you’re in front of the shot. Either way the advice in this vid does not apply to the way we hit drives at my club.

can you do a dink-dink-lob drill for us older folks?

Wow. I wish I had been taught these techniques about 3 months into my life with pball. After finding your videos and months of watching them I understand now that I was coached for too long to do the exact opposite of how to get to the line with strategy. Instead I was told countless times to run as fast as you can to the line…receive and run! This did not help me to hone any finesse to my shot(s) to safely get to the line whilst protecting my partner at the same time. Thank you John. Now I say with confidence to my partner we will “Cincola” this team right off the court!”
