Shri Lakshmi Venkatramana Swami Temple is located in Vontikoppal locality on Krishnaraja Sagar Road of Mysore. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and intricate architecture, visit to this temple is a perfect start to my Mysore adventure.
Mysore Coffee Bar which is local adda for breakfast. This small darshini style restaurant is located at Vijayanagar area and is very popular among locals.

Lingambudhi Lake, a serene spot perfect for a leisurely stroll.
This lake is located at Rama Krishna Nagar and is about 10 kms from heart of city. This is a lovely place with nature at its pristine best. Do not forget to take your binoculars as you get to see a variety of birds like hornbills, peacocks, minivets, ibis, ducks among others.
Lingambudhi Botanical Garden has been developed on 15 acre plot.
This garden has been laid out with themes including rose garden, aromatic garden, butterfly garden, bamboo blocks, fragrance block, fruits block and well maintained water pools to attract aquatic birds.
The rose garden has 80 varieties of roses that display different colours and shapes. The beauty is enhanced by miniature roses, standard roses and hybrid roses.
Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple is built during same period as Lingambudhi Lake and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Visitors to this temple experience a tranquil and spiritually uplifting experience making it a great spot for reflection.
Mysore Palace is a must-see attraction. Designed by the English Architect, Henry Irwin, Mysore Palace dominates the skyline of Mysore. Mysore Palace is a three storied structure built in Indo Saracenic style of architecture. Built between 1897 to 1912, palace has beautifully designed square towers at cardinal points, covered with domes. Durbar Hall with its ornate ceiling and sculpted pillars with its glazed tiled flooring and stained glass, domed veiling are worth noting.
Jagan Mohan Palace is a royal mansion, art museum and auditorium and formerly an alternative royal residence of the ruling Maharaja of Mysore.
Royal Auditorium Hall at Jagan Mohan Palace is used for Carnatic arts such as dance, music and other cultural programmes.
Art Gallery at back side of Auditorium contains one of the largest collections of artefacts in South India. Most of these artefacts are paintings, prominent among which are those by Raja Ravi Varma.
MTR Restaurant at Jayalakshmipuram, a legendary place known for its authentic South Indian cuisine. The thali here is packed with traditional flavours and is definitely worth trying. Mini Thai comes with option of either Poori or Masala Dosa.On Sunday and festivals, special lunch is served at MTR Mysore.
Payana Car Museum celebrates intricate beauty and engineering marvels of vintage automobiles. This museum features an impressive collection of vintage cars and rare models
Chamundi Hills is about 3489 feet above sea level and is 13 kms from Mysore city. The temple on top of the hill is dedicated to Sri Chamundeswari, the titular deity of the Mysore Royal Family also described as Mahishasura Mardini for having killed the buffalo headed demon Manhishasura.
The panoramic view of Mysore from the top is breath taking.
As I had lot of time for my dinner, I explored Kalidasa Road and nearby places.
For a quick snack, visit Ravi Churmuri Chat Stall. Their spicy and tangy churmuri is a local favourite and a perfect evening treat.
