This is a simple but wonderfully tasty fish soup is usually made out of the leftovers from the filleting of the pomfret fish for our “UMAI” & “BELOH” dishes. We are left with the heads & lots of meat still attached to the bones there. Nothing goes to waste, we juzt turn it into a delicious soup!
Fish heads & bones of 2 pomfrets
1 or more chillies
12 pieces of smoked assam payak or fresh ones OR some Tamarind paste OR lemon juice
1 stock cube, fish/veggie/chicken
4-6 young turmeric leaves
Salt
Water
